Acknowledgement

This Project is a result of sheer hard work by our guide Prof. Neeraj
Sharma. He has been very supportive no matter the conditions were. We
also want to thank Charanjit Sir for always sparing time for us from his
busy schedule. And last but not the least our friends for giving their support
and sharing their ideas with us.

Why Energy hardware Station as Project?

Initially we started our Project with an aim to build a wireless energy
transmission device but after a lot of discussions and arguments the outcome
was that we needed to find a new idea for the project. Then our guide Prof.
Neeraj Sharma gave us an idea of building something which would help us
out caste us from the other students who were making electronics oriented
projects. Also this concept in spite of being easy seemed very amusing to us,
Hence we decided to proceed with this as our project.

STEPS OF CONSRTUCTION:

Wooden planks were bought and crafted to perfection with the help of
a carpenter.
Then they were nailed together to make the required frame.
Motor was placed at its correct position along with the shaft coupled
to the wheel, as shown in pictures.
20 magnets were tied with the help of ties and threads.
Reinforcement for the strength was provided with the help of pieces
of pipes.
The shaft was tightened with the help of a Nut.
Connections from both the sides were connected to the capacitors.
The device was hence ready to be tested.
The Motor was powered by a 12V DC Source (battery).
Output was obtained through the multi meter.

9
BLOCK DIAGRAM:-

A 12V DC Supply is given to a 12V DC motor. The motor is connected to a
wooden wheel having magnets tied to it through a shaft. The Conductor
copper coil is placed between the two wheels. As we know that whenever
a conductor cuts through a magnetic field EMF is induced in the conductor.

We have provided 1100 turns to the coil so that it may produce
approximately a 110V.

The output is measured by the help of a multi meter .

10
PRINCIPLE OF OPERATIONS:-

1.) 1
st
Law of Faraday:- Whenever the flux the linked to a coil
a changes ,current gets induced.
Techinally:- The EMF generated by Faraday's law of
induction due to relative movement of a circuit and a
magnetic field is the phenomenon underlying electrical
generators. When a permanent magnet is moved relative to a
conductor, or vice versa, an electromotive force is created. If
the wire is connected through an electrical load, current will
flow, and thus electrical energy is generated, converting the
mechanical energy of motion to electrical energy.

2.)Lenzs law :-
When an emf is generated by a change in magnetic flux
according to Faraday's Law, the polarity of the induced emf is
such that it produces a current whose magnetic field opposes the
change which produces it. The induced magnetic field inside
any loop of wire always acts to keep the magnetic flux in the
loop constant. In the examples below, if the B field is
increasing, the induced field acts in opposition to it. If it is
decreasing, the induced field acts in the direction of the applied
field to try to keep it constant.

15

Rectification of errors and its improvement

1. Initially when we started our work with windings, we were unable to
do it correctly as the width of the wire wasnt apt so what we did
ended in failures and hence we had to bring new wires and with
correct diameter ie 1mm and do the winding again. The following
picture demonstrates.

17
2.) While performing the first test run, we had a catastrophical result as
the wooden chip wasnt screwed properly hence the strong magnetic
field produced by the magnets attracted it causing it to break and then
rotate with the wheel destroying two magnets. The following pictures
shows it.

19

This wooden piece was joined again with fevicol and was given strength
with the help of cotton thread which is specially used to give strength to
motor winding.

Even the copper wire used was again coiled in a proper manner with the help
of a 23SWG wire. It is also shown in figure.

The pictures above also showed how the repair was done and the project was
reconstructed in a short period of time.

22
SPECIAL FEATURES OF OUR PROJECT.

1.) The energy hardware station eco friendly.
2.) The battery used can be charged again from itself.
3.) The operation is cheap and less repair is required.
4.) If in case the output is to be increased the station can be dismantled
very easily and the number of turns can be increased, hence increasing
the output.
5.) The design looks very appealing and hence it could have its
application as a teaching aid.
