CAPINTALAN,CARRANGLAN, NUEVA ECIJA,
STILL EXISTING?

INTRODUCTION
The presence of many ethnic minorities in the country brought diverse
beliefs and practices, geographically many
The numerous islands of archipelago where cultural minorities live
poses difficulty in uniting and communicating them as one national
group for they also differ in many national characteristics ranging from
customs traditions, beliefs ,creeds religion and their lifestyle.
In the past the existence of such minorities group given less importance
due to their mountainous area uncivilized and uneducated people. As
the time past they learned how to interact with other major group
especially in the lowland and also start giving importance the education
and now they are finally active in involving political, social, economical
and religion.
More over our concerns is to be fair with them give them equal rights
and give respect to their beliefs and practices in their ethnic groups
where they belonged. This study provides a vivid pictures on how this
people survived and developed their distinct cultural and identity and
to know if this cultures is still practices or existing today?






STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The research attempted to study the cultural practices of the
indigenous people of Capintalan Carranglan, Nueva,Ecija specifically the
research tried to answer the following questions.
1.) What are the cultural practices of the indigenous people of barangay
Capintalan?
2.) Are these cultural practices is still existing today?
3.) What are the cause of its changes?

IMPORTANCE OF THE STUDY
This study gives information about the cultural practices of
indigenous people of Capintalan Carranglan,Nueva Ecija to give
our attention and make a solution to help them to preserves their
endanger culture by discovering the cause of its changes

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION
The reseach involved 30 residents in barangay capintalan carranglan
nueva,ecija.the sample survey covers the cultural practices of
indigenous people of barangay capintalan.the item list are only
examples and should not be taken as acomplete list of items to be
included and excluded.

METHODS OF GATHERING
This research used survey techniqes in gathering data which includes
questionnaire for indigenous people of brgy.Capiintalan Carranglan
,Nueva ,Ecija.The method where aalso involved not just mere gathering
data it is also followed by interpretation,measurement and
recommendation.

RESEARCH METHOD USED
This research used case study method to know if the cultural practices
of indigenous people of Capintalan Carr. Nueva, ecija is still existing
today?








DEFINITIONS OF TERMS
1.ETHNIC MINORITY- pertaining to groups or stocks of mankind as
having certain physical , mental or cultural characteristics in common
and usually a given but not necessarily living within geographic area.
2.DIVERSITY-The state of being dissimilar; distinct.
3. CULTURAL ILLITERACY- Those Who have no knowledge Of Their
Culture in relation to that world.
4. KALON- courtship
5. PUDONG- engagement
6. DAHADAH- house blessings
7. BATARES - ( bayanihan)
8. LAGA- Ritual gathering
9.PADET- Ritual feast
10. TONGTONG- system of resolving conflicts
11. MABAKI- ( albularyo )
12. NANGKAAMA-elders
13. TOTOO- their gods
14. BANIG- ghost
