May 2014 - September 2014
Co-Creator, Mayday PAC
Co-created a non-partisan advocacy Super PAC with Professor Lawrence Lessig of Harvard University
to fight for reforming the role that money plays in politics. Mayday PAC, using a kickstarter
crowdfunding model, raised $330k in the first 36 hours, and the first $1M in 13 days. Its second
crowdfunding stage in June raised $5M in 30 days. Over 55,000 people contributed, making it the largest
SuperPAC, by number of contributors, in U.S. political history.
Promoted the site on social media and online and print news sites, a key component of our success in
our online crowdfunding.
Coded v. 1.0 of the site, which proved a proof of concept that helped recruit technical volunteers from
Google, WordPress Foundation, and others.
Wrote web copy, blog posts, letters to influential members of the media and celebrity endorsers
(including George Takei and Wil Wheaton) and created viral videos to explain the PACs mission and
increase brand awareness.
November 2012 - Present:

Specializing in social media and web content creation: video, animation, and copywriting.
Client List includes: New Hampshire Rebellion (a project of Rootstrikers), LBJ School of Public
Affairs, Austin Technology Council, Louie Minor for Congress, Astonish Design, Packet Design,
Paessler AG, Breaking Point (now Ixia), Austin Specialty Foods, LifeSize, GeeksAreSexy.net, and
Demand Progress (via the New Hampshire Rebellion).
Video production included scripting, storyboarding, casting, shooting, editing, and publishing.
Copywriting included webpages, blog posts, whitepapers, flyers and push-cards. Animation included
Adobe Flash 2D frame-by-frame animation, PowToon, Reveal.js, and Keynote.
Achievements include 420k+ views on a live video presentation by Gabe Newell, 105k+ views on a live
video event with Adam Savage, 101k views on an animated presentation on data caps on home and
mobile broadband, and 512k+ views on the UI decisions in Windows 8.
February 2011 - November 2012:

Outsourced part-time by CacheIQ to ScienceLogic, Austin, TX
Produced videos promoting products and company personalities. Video production included scripting,
storyboarding, casting, shooting, editing, and publishing, and occasionally involved travel to Las Vegas
(for trade shows) and Washington, DC.

Wrote, edited, and produced written marketing materials, including whitepapers, product collateral,
blog posts, and website content, often explaining dense technical concepts to business managers and
purchasing decision makers not versed in geekspeak.
Helped to launch Cache IQ brand from the very beginning, including consulting on website design and
framework, brand naming conventions, and strategy.
May 2010 - August 2010:

Wrote, edited, and produced written and video marketing materials for SilverStripe, including case
studies, whitepapers, and online web copy, providing analysis of the value of adopting the SilverStripe
CMS to companies and government agencies considering using Drupal or WordPress. Also wrote the
online help documentation for users of SilverStripe 3.0.
October 2006 - February 2010:
New Media Communications Specialist NetQoS, Austin TX
Wrote, edited, and produced written marketing materials, including whitepapers, product collateral,
blog posts, and website content, and had editorial ownership of the company blog,
NetworkPerformanceDaily.com, which reached 187k visitors in the first eight months.
Launched and conducted an investigative report series on a Connecticut schoolteacher wrongly
convicted of child endangerment. The coverage eventually led to her conviction being overturned.
Produced live-action videos promoting products and company personalities.
