Experience May 2014 - September 2014 Co-Creator, Mayday PAC Co-created a non-partisan advocacy Super PAC with Professor Lawrence Lessig of Harvard University to fight for reforming the role that money plays in politics. Mayday PAC, using a kickstarter crowdfunding model, raised $330k in the first 36 hours, and the first $1M in 13 days. Its second crowdfunding stage in June raised $5M in 30 days. Promoted the site on social media and online and print news sites, a key component of our success in our online crowdfunding. Coded v. 1.0 of the site, which proved a proof of concept that helped recruit technical volunteers from Google, WordPress Foundation, and others. Wrote web copy, blog posts, letters to influential members of the media and celebrity endorsers (including George Takei and Wil Wheaton) and created viral videos to explain the PACs mission and increase brand awareness.
