HY22
HY22 is the well-established leader
in the eld of lled PTFE materials.
It produces the lowest wear rate in the
range of medium to high lled grades.
Low thermal expansion and good creep
characteristics make it the rst choice
for low-pressure air and hydrocarbon
compressor duties.
HY50
HY50, also known as Nobrac, is the
well-established leader in its eld. PTFE
is present as a dispersed phase, which
together with its unique combination of
other materials, offers the advantages
of a low friction material with excellent
wear resistance at very low dew points,
especially for bone dry and boil-off
gases.
A considerable portfolio of applications
has been established over the last thirty
years with some having run in excess of
96,000 hours. Typical processes where
HY50 excels are pure special gases
such as hydrogen, nitrogen, argon and
helium, others include boil-off LNG and
ethylene.
HY54
HY54 is the well-established leader
in the eld of multi ller lled PTFE.
Successful experience in compressor
applications covers air, methane,
ethylene, propylene and hydrogen.
HY60
HY60 is a well-proven lled PTFE grade
that provides consistent performance in
pure oxygen or applications containing
oxygen. Classied suitable for oxygen
by the German Federal Institute for
Materials Research and Testing
within BAM.
Operating conditions
HY520
For cylinder and packing rings in air and
oxygen compressors particularly at high
discharge temperatures typically found
in later stages. This material grade is
also successfully used in high tempe-
rature gas applications. Due to its ller
content, the dissipation of heat from
its contact surface is better than some
other PTFE lled materials. This grade
of material is BAM certied. Typical
processes include high pressure stages
of PET, general high temperature appli-
cations or in environments with high
ambient temperature.
HY521
This premium grade is suitable for the
majority of non-lube applications and
gives much better wear characteristics
than that of standard carbon-lled
grades, doubling ring life in some cases.
This material grade is also suitable
where the gas is susceptible to con-
densate or liquid carry over, and also
in a lubricated environment. HY521 is
suitable for oxygen service, certied by
BAM. Typical processes include low
pressure stages of PET compressors,
wet renery gas applications e.g. recycle
stages of HDS, olens, chlorides air,
hydrocarbons and refrigeration gases.
HY534
HY534 is a high performance polymer
material for lubricated high pressure
applications. Experience with gases such
as hydrogen, ammonia, synthesis gas,
carbon dioxide and ethylene show out-
standing results. This grade continues
to enjoy world-wide success in recipro-
cating compressors. HY534 can also be
successfully used in combination with
metallic packing rings in high pressure
applications.
HY538
This high modulus, low creep PTFE
compound has been formulated
primarily for gas compressor rod
packings, piston rings and rider bands
in non-lube conditions where the gas
is dry with a dew point as low as
-40 deg C. It can also be tted in
situations where the ductility of bone-
dry gas materials is limiting such as
dry ethylene, dry natural gas, hydrogen,
dry HDS service (use HY521 for recycle
HDS).
*) Additional grades are available
for specic applications.
