Probability of eliminating qualifying examinations in the 1

st
year and 2
nd
year of Baliuag
University BSA Course
(Impact on the quality of BSA students in preparation for the CPA Board Examination)

I. ABSTRACT
Baliuag University is becoming known for its Accountancy program. Having a passing
percentage which is higher than the National passing percentage, Baliuag University is one of the
go-to schools for students in Bulacan and also from nearby provinces like Pampanga who wants
to take up Bachelor of Science in Accountancy.
The enormous improvement in this passing percentage can be clearly rooted on its
qualifying examinations which are offered to incoming 2
nd
year and 3
rd
year students. Every year
before the students can enroll they must first pass the qualifying examinations which are mainly
reviews of their past accounting subjects.
The qualifying examinations are formerly known as battery examinations where students
are only taking it as part of their review and not as a qualifying exam. With the application of the
new system, the students are now motivated to study harder for them not to be eliminated and to
continue the course. It can be shown in the percentage of passers who experienced the qualifying
examination. One of the products of this new system is Mr. Roel S. Boiser who passed the CPA
Board Examination on October 2010 and finishing at number 10.
