DOORKNOCKING UNDERWAY

I promised during the election campaign to doorknock
every house in the electorate. I am well underway
having already doorknocked over 500 homes.

PARLIAMENTARY TOURS

School groups can visit parliament house for tours. I
have recently hosted a tour for students from the
Adelaide North Special School.

Any member of the public can tour Parliament House
at 10am and 2pm on non-sittings days. All
parliamentary debates are open to the public.

ABORIGINAL LANDS TOUR

I sit on the Aboriginal Lands Parliamentary Standing
Committee. The committee meets every Friday during
sitting weeks. I recently went with the committee on a
tour of the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY)
lands in the far north of South Australia. The trip was
very worthwhile and it was great to meet the local
communities.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY IN NORTHERN ADELAIDE
Emergency Services Levy (ESL)
I appreciate the removal of the general
concession on the Emergency Services
Levy is hard for everyone but it was a
decision that the government took in light
of the massive cuts in the Federal budget.

Australian Submarine Corporation
My office and Nick Champions office have
petitions available for people sign that Nick
will use to lobby the Federal Government
for the subs to be built in SA.

National School Chaplaincy Programme
I fully support the State Government
lobbying the Federal Government to ensure
Schools continue to have the choice of a
Christian Pastoral Support Worker or a
secular social worker.
Parliament House
Current Issues
JP SERVICES
I have a Justice of the Peace in my office
most days between 9am and 5pm.
Habitat for Humanity is a non-
profit organisation that works
with local families to provide
them with homes.

Habitat has built nearly 30
homes in Northern Adelaide with
the latest one being dedicated
recently at Davoren Park to a
mum with four boys at home.

I recently attended a Mortgage
burning ceremony where a
Habitat family burnt their
mortgage having paid it off
over 12 years.
