Removing
Remove toothed belt guard upper part.

Turn the crankshaft to bring the camshaft to TDC for cylinder 1. The marking on the camshaft
gear must match up with the arrow on toothed belt guard.
Loosen the tensioning roller and remove toothed belt from camshaft gear.
Slightly turn crankshaft back.

Remove the camshaft gear. To loosen the bolt, hold camshaft gear secure with Counter Support -
3415-.
Remove woodruff key from camshaft.
Insert the camshaft gear mounting bolt all the way into camshaft.
Turn the inner part of the Seal Remover -2085- two turns (approx. 3 mm) from the outer part and
secure it with a knurled-head screw.

Lubricate the threaded head of the seal remover, mount it, and using force, install the sealing ring
as far in as possible.
Loosen the knurled-head screw and turn inner part against camshaft until sealing ring is pulled
out.
Clamp the seal remover to the flat surface in the vise. Remove sealing ring using pliers.
Installing
Requirements
Pistons may not be in the upper TDC positions.

Note:
Instead of a hose spring sealing ring -1-, install a PTFE sealing ring (Teflon) -2-. This one has a wider
sealing lip. PTFE sealing rings are installed without oil or grease. An old style radial shaft seal (with a ring
spring) maybe replaced by a PTFE sealing ring, however not the other way around. If a PTFE sealing ring
was used, then can only be used as a replacement part.

Note: Do not additionally oil or lubricate the sealing lip of the sealing ring.

Mount the sealing ring with the Guide Sleeve -T10071- and using the Pressure Sleeve -T10071/1- press it
and the bolt -T10071/2- all the way in.
Hose spring sealing rings
Note: Lightly oil or grease the oil seal sealing lip.
Mount the sealing ring with the Guide Sleeve -10 203- and using the pressure sleeve press it and the bolt
-10 203- all the way in.
Continuation for all sealing rings
Install woodruff key in camshaft.

Install camshaft gear. To tighten the bolt, hold the camshaft gear secure using the Counter
Support -3415-.
Tightening torque: 100 Nm
Note: If the camshaft is turned the crankshaft may not be in TDC. Danger of damaging to valves/piston
head.
Perform remaining installation operations in reverse order of removal.
