Beyond Jordan
Joshua 5:1

And it came to pass, when all the Kings of the Amorites ---
And all the Kings of the Canaanites --- heard that the Lord had dried up the waters of Jordan ---
that their heart melted, neither was their spirit in them any more, because of the children of
Israel.

Let us go back to Numbers 13

I. Sending of the spies. (v.1-2)

v.2 Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan which
I give unto the children of Israel.

II. Their reports

 v.23 The harvest of the land was great --- beyond belief
 v.27 The land --- it floweth with milk and honey
 v.28 Nevertheless --- the people be strong
the cities are walled
and they are giants
they are stronger than us
they eateth up the inhabitance
 v.33 We were in our sight as grasshoppers
And so we were in their sight

III. But now let us hear the truth

5:1 All the inhabitants ---
 heard that the Lord had dried up the waters of Jordan
 their heart melted
 neither was their spirit in them any more

IV. Now hear this also:

Read Joshua 5:13-15
And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked,
and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua
went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?
And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua
fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his
servant?
And the captain of the Lord’s host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot;
for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.

So now what stops us from the Promise of God?

If the captain of the host of the Lord is for us can we see our bondage broken?

We now have two choices:

1. Stay in bondage
2. Trust God

Which do you choose?
