1 FEATURES
1. Digital transfer connectors
The D VD -3910 can be connected to another digital transfer
com patible D enon com ponent (AV am plifier, etc.) using a
single cable (included) for high quality digital sound w ith little
transfer loss.
(1) D enon Link term inal
This term inal can be used for digital transfer of not only
D VD video signals, but also m ulti-channel audio signals of
D VD audio.
(2) IEEE 1394 term inal
This term inal can be used for digital transfer of not only
D VD video signals, but also D VD audio signals, Super
A udio C D signals and other m ulti-channel audio signals.
D igital transfer of video signals is possible by connecting an
H D C P com patible display device equipped w ith one of the
connectors below using a special cable.
W hen playing D VD A U D IO w ith C PPM , the video signal cannot
be output, and then the audio signal cannot be output from the
H D M I connector too.
(3) H D M I connector
D igital video signals are transferred in color space (Y/C b/C r)
or R G B .
The audio signals can be transferred sim ultaneously, so
both audio and video signals can be transferred w ith a
single cable.
(4) D VI-D connector
D igital video signals are transferred in R G B .

2. Super Audio CD multi-channel playback compatibility
In addition to playing D VD audio and video discs, the D VD -
3910 can play m ulti-channel Super A udio C D s w ith a playback
frequency range covering 100 kH z and a dynam ic range of 120
dB or greater w ithin the audible frequency range, and a
m axim um of 5.1 channels can be output.
3. AL24 Processing Plus at all channel
A L24 Processing Plus com pensates the input digital data to
reproduce the sound w ith analog w aveform s as close as
possible to those existing in nature and w ith 24-bit quality. The
result is increased m usical reproduction capabilities of
reverberations, etc., at low levels, for a sound that seem s to
draw you into the concert hall.
Equipped for not only the left and right channels but also for
the front left and right, the surround left and right, center and
subw oofer channels.
4. High precision 24-bit D/A converter
The audio playback circuit includes an advanced segm ent type
D /A converter w ith the high technical specifications in the
business, m anufactured by B urr-B row n, a com pany w ith an
established reputation for D /A converters. This high
perform ance D /A converter allow s not only input of the 24-
bit/192 kH z data of D VD -A udio discs, it also includes an analog
pure FIR filter for ideal D SD playback of Super A udio C D s.
Furtherm ore, the sam e D A C is used unsparingly for the front,
the surround, center and LFE channels to provide optim um
sound quality during m ulti-channel playback as w ell.
5. HDCD
) decoder
(NOTE 1)
H D C D is an encoding/decoding technology that greatly
reduces the distortion occurring at the tim e of digital recording
w hile m aintaining com patibility w ith the conventional C D
form at. H D C D allow s 20-bit data to be converted into the 16-
bit data of current C D s w ith no loss in sound quality.
The use of this H D C D decoder m akes it possible to achieve
the high resolution and low distortion characteristic of H D C D
w hen playing H D C D -com patible discs, and D EN O N s digital
technology optim izes the high sound quality possibilities of
H D C D technology. Furtherm ore, norm al C D s and H D C D -
com patible C D s are autom atically identified, and the optim um
digital signal processing for that type of disc is used.
6. Dolby Digital/DTS decoder (NOTE 2, 3)
The D VD -3910 is equipped w ith a built-in D olby D igital/D TS
decoder, allow ing you to recreate the atm osphere of a m ovie
theater or concert hall w hen using the D VD -3910 in
com bination w ith an AV am plifier and speakers.
7. Progressive Scan circuit DCDi
TM
(NOTE 4)
The D VD -3910 is equipped w ith a high precision Progressive
Scan circuit D C D i allow ing it to reproduce m ovies and
other im ages on D VD s w ith a quality near that of the original.
8. Newly developed video processing circuit
The differences in brightness and color level betw een adjacent
picture elem ents in the horizontal, vertical and diagonal
directions are detected to adjust the contours. The brightness
signal and color signal are processed separately, resulting in
natural, clear im ages.
9. 12-bit/216 MHz video D/A converter (NOTE 5)
The D VD -3910 uses a video D /A converter that conducts D /A
conversion of all video signals at 12 bits and allow s 8X
oversam pling in the progressive m ode to achieve the high
quality picture that D VD s are m eant to provide. In addition,
N SV technology reduces noise upon D /A conversion.
10. Thorough vibration-resistant design
(1) M echanism using a hybrid loader.
(2) The pickup m echanism is positioned at the center to
reduce the effects of external vibrations.
(3) A heavyw eight chassis and low center of gravity m ake for
a low vibration design.
11. Multiple functions
(1) Still picture playback function
Kodak Picture C D (NOTE 6) and Fujifilm Fujicolor C D
(NOTE 7) can be played on the D VD -3910.
Still im ages stored in JPEG form at on C D -R /R W s can also
be played.
(2) W indow s M edia playback function (NOTE 8)
W indow s M edia C D s can be played on the D VD -3910.
(3) M ultiple audio function
Selection of up to 8 audio languages.
(The num ber of languages offered differs from D VD to
D VD .)
(4) M ultiple subtitle function

(5) M ultiple angle function
The angle of view can be changed.
(For D VD s on w hich m ultiple angles are recorded.)
(6) G U I (G raphical U ser Interface) function
The D ISPLAY button on the rem ote control unit can be
used to display player and disc inform ation on the TV
screen.
(7) M arker function
The positions of up to five scenes can be stored in the
m em ory, so you can w atch your favourite scenes
