Comments on Specification for Cable Tray of KUMPP

2.11.00 33 kV system shall be described as "Effectively earthed", as the 400/34.5kV LV
winding is a solidly earthed zig-zag. Please update the fault level also (from
transmission group)
3.01.00 As the welding of Cable tray to the Angle support is specified in Section
10.07.00, the references to clamps may be deleted in Section 3.01.00 Main
Offer.
10.00.00 Please include the following-
Method of welding of rung members to side plates shall be Continuous C
welding. Spot welding is not accepted.
10.00.00 Specify the tolerance for tray dimension
Length +/-5 mm,
Width +/-2 mm,
Heigth +/-2 mm
& Thickness +/- 0.1mm.
17.02.00 Test clause shall include following tests on sample basis
a) Galvanizing tests as below
1. Uniformity in thickness as per IS 2633
2. Mass of zinc coating as per IS 6765
3. Freedom from defect & adhesion test as per IS 2629
b) Welding inspection as per IS 822.
c) Physical and dimensional checks for each type of tray / accessory.
17.02 Type tests for FRP Cable Tray shall include:
Fire retardancy
UV Stability
Corrosion resistance to chemicals (please list the chemicals in the location of
intended use)
17.02.04 Deflection shall not exceed 7mm for 750 and 600mm trays for a uniform loading
of 75kg/m at a support span of 2.5m.
Deflection shall not exceed 7mm for 450 and 300mm trays for a uniform loading
of 50kg/m at a support span of 2.5m.
FRP Cable tray shall meet this requirement at the design ambient temperatrue
of 50degC. If the test is conducted at a temperature less than 50degC, the
Working load shall be derated in accordance with Table4-3 of NEGA-FG1.
19.03.00 The bidder shall submit the procedure to be followed at site for Site fabrication,
including the sealing of cut ends of FRP Cable trays
Annexure -A Additionally, consider Vertical tees.
This will result in saving of tray reducers, accessories and support requirement.
Sr. no. 22.3,there is a textual mistake. It should be 150 mm width to 150 mm
width.
Annexure A The quantity of perforated cable tray of 150mm and 100mm width is mentioned
as 10 metres (both for GI and FRP). Please correct as per requirement. Update
in Schedule D also
Schedule -B1 Sl. No. 1.6,for load bearing capacity,the unit shall be kg/m (not kg).
Schedule -B2 Sl. No. 1.6,for load bearing capacity,the unit shall be kg/m (not kg).
Schedule E Item 1.0: The price breakup is requested for "each section". Below this it is
mentioned as "per metre" against each type of tray. Delete the "per metre"
