Provides a limited number of scholarships each year for
Palliative Care Training opportunities for nurses.

Scholarships are awarded up to a maximum of US$ 4,000
through a competitive application process once a year.
APCA and FHSSA give priority to requests of Registered
and Enrolled nurses to pursue formal palliative care training
in Africa. They are also willing to potentially consider one
scholarship for a distance Learning Masters programme,
when necessary for the career objective of the student (i.e.
Registered or Enrolled Nurse) and in line with palliative care
development in Africa. Application requests will also be
considered for travel for palliative care conferences judged
to be of interest to the development of palliative care in
Africa.

Offers maintenance, tuition and travel for Masters students

There are no restrictions on nationality. It will cover fees at
the home and EU student's rate, and maintenance; (non-

The Chevening Scholarship Scheme, funded by the Foreign
and Commonwealth Office (FCO), targets the future
generation of leaders, decision-makers and opinion-formers
early in their careers.

The scholarships are usually awarded to students intending
to pursue 12 month Master's degree programmes.
Occasionally scholarships are awarded for shorter courses
or programmes of study. The minimum period of study in
the UK is three months. The typical successful applicant will
display both intellectual ability and leadership potential.

Applications should be made to the British Embassy/High
Commission or the British Council in an applicant's own
country of origin.

This Hardship Fund was sent up in 1990 by the Churches to
assist international students, irrespective of their race, sex
or religion, who face unexpected financial problems during
the final stages of their degree course. Awards are normally
made to those who can clearly show that a small grant will
enable them to complete their course, normally those who
are within six months of finishing

Up to 150 full masters scholarships are available each year
from the CUD (Commission Universitaire pour le
Dveloppement) to students from developing countries.
Within the programme for international courses and training
programmes, CIUF grants scholarships for participation into
the courses and also for participation into the training
programmes.

Some of these courses and trainings are in French and
candidates should be familiar with the language before
applying for them. Nevertheless, selected candidates also
need to learn French while participating in the program.

FfWG offers Foundation Grants to help women graduates
with their living expenses (not fees) while registered for
study or research at an approved institution of higher
education in Great Britain. The criteria are the proven needs
of the applicant and their academic calibre. For the
academic year 2012 - 2013 grants will only be given for a
postgraduate doctoral award e.g. PhD or D.Phil . They are
not likely to exceed 6,000. All our grants are offered on a
needs basis and therefore not all grants will be for 6,000.

The purpose of the Fund is to promote educational
development in Sudan. Grants are available for educational
projects in the Sudan and for Sudanese nationals studying

Criteria:

The Bertha Centre is developing a consortium of local and

The Centre is currently inviting applications for PhD
