Sauf Haus
ALL MONTH: Wilkommen!
Beer buffs in search of Oktoberfest-style revelry have a new place to hoist a mug. On two floors
and the roomy rooftop of an 1880 Dupont Circle building, Sauf Haus (page 48) pours 16 German
drafts (think Warsteiner Dunkel, Hofbrau Hefeweizen) to pair with bratwursts, soft pretzels and,
because this is Chesapeake Bay-country, oysters. Other Prost!-worthy venues include longtime
favorites like Caf Berlin, Old Europe, Gordon Biersch, Biergarten Haus and Capitol City Brewing Co.,
which on October 4 hosts the Mid-Atlantic Oktoberfest in Shirlington.Brooke Sabin
