I went to Per Scholas Institute for Technology, training in A+, Microsoft and Software Testing
Technologies, receiving certifications in A+ and Windows.
Some of my training included hands-on hardware and software configuration of PC systems, learning the mechanics of the system gave me the opportunity to set up VMWare and installing windows server and various operating systems over the network I had to troubleshoot a number of systems, using the command-line interface on both the Windows and Unix platforms I participated in the Software Testing Program which was designed by Barclays Bank, SmartBear and uTest. My practical experience for Software Testing included: Functional testing, testing various games platforms I learned the heuristic methodology where I did some exploratory testing on several sites, using a mind mapping software program to help develop my test plan. I used QTrace to record screen shots, and Jing to recreate steps for the bugs I found. I did some mobility testing on the android platform SmartBear gave us some hands-on training on TestComplete platform In Agile, we did a sprint test for an airline product. We had 4 teams who collectively developed the narrative. We used key areas from narrative to brainstorm and develop our tasks and the time needed to complete the project. This process was done on a cycle basis where for each cycle we re-evaluated our tasks and developed new tasks to draw us closer to the solution. We had about 6 cycles. James Bach gave us training in Rapid Software Testing. Here we practiced exploratory testing in what he labeled as the unknown. The approach to his model, is to think faster and a more looser as oppose to more of a structured approach. The idea is based on assumptions, norms, and habits this will pose more questions that can will enhance critical thinking. I worked on several uTest projects, conducting exploratory and rapid software testing. We worked on the NBA, Post-It Note and several Restaurant sites. I spent some time in Barclays Bank Software Testing environment on the back-end of the trading side. Here I was exposed the simulation of the trading process for high-end Fortune 500 companies. We learned how they conducted their testing using a script in the process simulating actual trades, manipulating data using SQL and XML. I spent some time working with major companies including, Time Warner, Universal, Estee Lauder and the Ford Foundation. I mainly work in the Executive offices managing special projects and financial data, using various applications, including Autodesk, Microsoft Project, Visio, PPT, Excel, Adobe, just to name a few.
