Christmas 2009
New Faces—by Elise Chadwick
We welcomed three new sisters into the
Lima Children’s Home recently! After the tragic murder of their mother, *Emilia, Berta, and Melissa have been placed in our Home as there are no other relatives who can care for them. We take great comfort in the fact that their mother believed in Jesus as her Savior and was taking the girls to church before her death. God is in the business of restoring lives racked with pain so we look forward to seeing how He glori- fies Himself in this very sad situation. Please pray for the girls’ adjustment and that our Lord consoles them in their grief.
The Oasis is Alive (with the sound of music)
In the May edition of our newsletter we asked for donations for musical instruments and were amazed at the wonderful response! Our Manchay Oasis Care Center is blessed with teachers with exceptional musical talent and, thanks to you, they are now able to impart those skills to the children. Each class of school-aged children is able to have an hour long class each day learning to use the differ- ent instruments. One teacher is hoping to start a band with some of the children with extra prac- tices on Saturdays. Thank you so much for bringing to our children the joy of music!

The new site of the Lima Children’s Home, in Pachacamac!
Construction Update—by Tyler Foss
As the Peruvian summer break approaches, the pressure is mounting to move the rest of our kids onto the new site for the Children’s Home in Pachacamac. Our hope is still to transition the rest of the kids into the new site before the new school year begins in March. Construction is moving along at a good pace, but the funding for the finish work is dry- ing up. We still need just over $30,000 to buy the rest of the materials to finish the first 5 housing units. If we are not able to complete the construction in time, we will have to delay the move for another year so that the kids won’t have to switch schools mid-year. We would also need to spend $10,000 more to bring the current home up to code. So, as you can see, we really need your help to meet our deadline to move the children into the new Home. If you are interested in giving to this ur- gent need, please see our wish list on the last page of this newsletter. Every gift counts and moves us one step closer to Each finished unit will house 8 orphaned/abandoned kids.

We love to give our sup-
porters opportunities to bless our ministry with the children. We also love to be good stewards with the resources that God supplies us with. These are several of the projects underway at the new Home in Pachacamac that will help the Home to be more self-sufficient and teach the kids practical skills. Each child will have their own mini-garden to raise vegetables for the Home.
Quote from Moms Helping Moms
“Before, when I wasn’t here I felt bad and felt sad. It has changed my life. Here I learn about God and read the Bible. I am learning to sew in the sewing room. Before, I had no idea how to sew. I am grateful that God has brought me to the Oasis.” — Flor (MHM mom) Director’s Deliberations When they had seen Him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.
