MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: Isai ah 46- 48; 1 Ti mot hy 2
Monday, October 13
Isa. 53: 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own
way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
O Mighty Savior:
Then it is true! Christ is the one,
1 Pet . 2: 24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we,
being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
You had to feel the weight of my sin. You had to endure the turning-away
of your Fathers face and favor. The Holy Spirit did not minister to your human
spirit. No communication from your Fathers love was possible. The Judge
refused to smile on the One who represented the criminal at the bar of his justice.
If those who are still as yet unforgiven only knew where they are and what
they are right now in the sight of God! Alas my Lord, that __________ and
__________ is so hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
When I lose the sense of fellowship with God, I lose mere drops compared
to the ocean of your loss while you were my sin-bearer. For youas you hung
there burning and thirsting on the crossthe sea of communion was dried up.
If I am not in fellowship with Him I feel desolate. Like Ive drifted into
nowhere, in an unimaginable region behind the back of God. The holy nature of
Christ must have been amazed at the position of being a substitute for my guilt.
Mat . 27: 46 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
Pure anguish. Undiluted agony. Yet it is the cry not of unbelief, but the cry
of a godly soul. Lord, does it not show your love of the word of God, that when
you felt your sharpest grief you turned to the words of scripture (Psalm 22:1) to
give it utterance? Oh, that I may so love the inspired Bible that I not only sing its
score, but weep to its music. Jesus, help me to remember that this week. Amen.
TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS MIRACLES
Chronological Bible Reading: Isai ah 49- 51; 1 Ti mot hy 3
Tuesday, October 14
Luke 13: 10- 13 And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. And,
behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed
together, and could in no wise lift up herself. And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and
said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. And he laid his hands on her: and
immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
Heavenly Father and Redeeming Friend:
This womans physical appearance was an indicator of her deep, long and
continued mental depression. She walked around as if she were searching for a
grave. Sometimes my feelings flow in a deep groove like that (shall I say, rut?),
cutting an ever-deeper channel. I cannot lift myself out the pit of such sadness.
Sometimes I slip into the rut where my thoughts are only on myself. I turn
my gaze to look inside instead of looking in your word, so I only see the dealings
that take place in that little world within. Then I lament my infirmities, mourn my
corruptions, watch my own emotionsI am always focused on myself till prayer
turns into a pity party. Loose me Lord, from this infirmity!
When Satan hits me he does not pull his punches. He does not know mercy
and he does not fight fair. Those whom he cannot destroy, he worries and scares.
In his cruelty he binds me, but he cannot kill me. The most he can do is bend me
toward the gravebut he cannot put me in it. I am out of range of his guns.
Since he cannot wound me with the bullet, Lord let me not be frightened at
the shot! Since he cannot kill me, let me not be bound for the slaughter. Let me
hear your word in the synagogue this Sunday. I can escape from Satans
clutches as long as I heed your word. I will know my heart is right with you
when I glorify you for loosing me. I am ready for it, Lord. The praise is just
waiting in my spirit for the right opportunity. Free me this week! Amen.
WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: Isai ah 52- 54; 1 Ti mot hy 4
Wednesday, October 15
Ps a. 19: 12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
Holy God:
My sin is my greatest curse. I would rather suffer anything than fall into sin
(at least when I am right with you I think that way). God, deliver me! When I so
much as contemplate how Ive fallen in the past, I cry,
Rom. 7: 24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this
death?
And I only find comfort in the truth that,
Rom. 7: 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
You give me the victory in Christ. Let that victory now become very
apparent in my life. Make it be displayed to convict and convince others, as well
as clear to my own conscience. Help me live toward you with more devotion,
confidence, obedience, submission, and simple childlike faith. Help me by your
Spirit to adore you with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. Enable me to live
toward others according to your word, loving my coworker as myself. Save me
from all harsh thoughts and slanderous speech. Deliver me from all anger,
bitterness and bearing grudges in my heart. Indeed, rescue me from anything that
is ungenerous or unkind, and let the law of love be written on the tablet of flesh
of a renewed heart. Only then can it be carried-out completely in all the thoughts,
words and actions of my life. Only then do I have revival.
Especially help me master my tongue! Keep me O God, when I am in
public, and preserve me when in private. Help me guard the door of my lips, and
grant that when it is open sweet water comes out. I want to speak that which is
good to edification, seasoned with salt for the lost. Give me this by your grace,
because you see how I cannot achieve it in the flesh. Amen.
A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING
Chronological Bible Reading: Isai ah 55- 57; 1 Ti mot hy 5
Thursday, October 16
Josh. 24: 7 And when they cried unto the Lord, he put darkness between you and the
Egyptians, and brought the sea upon them, and covered them; and your eyes have seen what I
have done in Egypt: and ye dwelt in the wilderness a long season.
BELIEVING fathers oft have told what things by God were done,
When faithful men in days of old their lifelong battle won;
And now when God calls us to life, and Satan tempts each man,
We choose our side in thmortal strife to fight as best we can
Like brothers true, of one accord, to hold one faith and serve one Lord.

Our King has come to claim His own, has paid the debt we owe,
Himself has fought the fight alone, in straits we cannot know.
Amid the worlds confusd noise, where we but darkly see,
The Christ appeals, with sweet, clear voice, My brothers, follow Me
Like brothers true, of one accord, to hold one faith, to serve one Lord.

And yet, O Christ, our Savior King, unless Thou keep us Thine,
Our faith will soon dry at the spring, our love will shrink and pine.
So by Thy Spirit mold us, Lord; inspire our hearts to pray;
Our hungry souls feed with Thy Word, and teach our lips to say,
True brothers we, of one accord, we hold one faith, we serve one Lord.

Archibald H. Charteris, 1889

FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY
Chronological Bible Reading: Isai ah 58- 60; 1 Ti mot hy 6
Friday, October 17
2 Cor. 1: 9- 11 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust
in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: Who delivered us from so great a death, and
doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us; Ye also helping together by prayer for
us,
Oh Lord and Master:
Keep us right with regard to the world. Let the witness we bear be an
unstained one. Make us a light in the world that never casts shadows and
suspicions over the minds of other people. Help us live-out Christs life as salt
and light as we live-out his eternal purpose.
Give us an energy that will eat us up. Make us so full of love that those
around us know if we ever use a harsh tone or say a strong word, only love
dictates it from us. In everything make us Christly, godly. That means we want
you to conquer our tempers, subdue our passions, and rule in usin spirit,
soul and body.
Lord, bless your church. Grant us mercy and favor in serving. Let the
mission be accomplished, and the kingdom of God established. Bless our country
also. Bless our political leaders with mercy. Guide our rulers. Uphold, sustain and
direct them. Let them be guilty of no folly, but Lord, teach our senators and
representatives, our governors and mayors, our sheriffs and judges wisdom. And
may it please you Lord, to bless those who are serving in the armed forces, even
for the deadly work they must do. Make Jesus Christ known and visit them with
revival! Let light break in their midnight. Let the day dawn and Christ be glorified.
We ask all in Jesus namedear to us and dear to you. Make him exalted by
everything we do to fulfill his mission. Spread revival by starting in our midst.
Do this for Jesus sake, and because he is worthy of glory. Amen.
SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS
Chronological Bible Reading: Isai ah 61- 63; 2 Ti mot hy 1
Saturday, October 18
Ps a. 93: 1 The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed
with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be
moved.
Majestic and Mighty Father:
My God reigns! Whatever opposition may arise, your throne is unmoved.
Whatever turmoil among nations and rebellion among men and women, the
eternal king sits above it all, reigning supreme. All things are ordered according to
your purpose, and your will be done. Why do I have to pray for your will to be
done then (Matt 6:10)? Because you currently allow a rival will in the universe.
The Adversary is no match for me, but his will may prevail any given time unless
I watch unto prayer and surrender myself voluntarily to your loving control.
Then, once I pray-down your Spirits involvement, nothing but your will
can prevail. When my will becomes nothing more than to do your will, then I
have found the secret, the source of all power, for the LORD is clothed with strength.
Isa. 33: 17 Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty:
Nothing can give me more joy as a loyal subject than to see the king in his
beauty. The word of this verse, The LORD reigneth, has to be both whispered in the
ears of the discouraged, and shouted to my enemies. You are not clothed with the
external symbols of majesty, but with majesty itself. You are the reality of
sovereignty. In creation, providence, and redemption, you are King. Strength
always dwells with your presence, but you often hide your power until answering
my cry. Then you assume the throne and defend your own. It is my prayer today
that your reign be evident in my life, and your power displayed to others. Then let
me follow-up that display with all the force of my testimony and witness to your
grace. Let me truly live your Eternal Purpose. Amen.

HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH

HOW TO BUILD A BALANCED LIFE

1) TIMEWORSHIP
Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.

2) TITHEWORK
1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as
God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions
asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.

3) TEAMWORD
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS
! Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)
! Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of
walking with us)
! Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in
the Word)

PRAYER DIARY

" INTERCEDE WITH GOD " INSTRUCT SAINTS
" PROMPT PETITIONS " KICKSTART DEVOTION

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
