Brianna Simorgankir Bio last update May 2103

Twenty one year old Brianna took her first singing lesson at the age of 12 after having moved for high
school in Sydney from her home in Bali, Indonesia.
She quickly developed a real love for singing and discovered an inherent vocal talent.
Surrounded by many excellent jazz musicians in Bali, she has, over the past few years, had much
opportunity to hone her 'on-stage' skills and has performed at many of the island's best known restaurants.
The fact that The Beat Magazine 'Bali & J akarta's Bi-weekly Entertainment Gig Guide' Issue No. 262, J une
25-J ul 08, 2010 chose to feature Brianna in a 2 page article shows the early recognition of her achievements
on the Indonesian island.
So too, does the fact that highly regarded record producer Robert Conley of BJ B Studios Sydney, asked her
to fly down to Sydney and record a song or two with him after he heard her perform in Bali.
Recently described by jazz great, J oy Yates as having "a wonderful rare talent with a strong leaning towards
the jazz idiom, a wonderful tone, a good ear and an engaging personality" Brianna has recognized a strong
desire to pursue a full time career as a singer/songwriter & entertainer.
After a stint in the Australian Institute of Music studying 'Contemporary Vocals' in Sydney she has been
working towards reaching that aim.
Brianna decided to move back to her Bali, her place of birth early in 2012 to launch herself as a singer and
performer here in Indonesia. As soon as that decision was made many things started to happen and not all
in Indonesia.
Firstly, she decided to put together an EP of five songs representing her more upbeat and current style and,
she is currently working on that in Sydney. Release of those 5 new songs is expected by the end of J uly.
Meantime, she was invited to sing with Indonesian Guitar legend J opie Item and his band at the J akarta
J azz Festival 2012. The J J is now one of the most famous and most fabulous J azz Festivals in the world
and is attended by amazing international talents. This year those talents included such artists as Stevie
Wonder, Erykah Badu, Herbie Hancock Trio, Al J arreau and many, many more.
Independent dance music label Midnite Music, famous for their quality dance tracks asked Brianna to write a
song or two for a couple of beats they had put together. As a result of doing a great job on those she is has
now recorded one of them, together with rapper Xamplify in Sydney and is just now awaiting release of the
mastered version!
Now back in Indonesia, Brianna has chosen to sign up with Catz Records and has just started work writing
for her first album which will be released to the Indonesian market in the not too distant future. A
combination of English and Indonesian songs, this eagerly awaited album will no doubt be the first of many !!
