And if My servants ask you, O Prophet, concerning Me, (then) tell
them that I am quite near to them. I hear and answer the prayer of
the suppliant, when he calls on Me. So let them respond to My call
and believe in Me. Perhaps they may be guided aright! [Quran
2:186]

At times of stress and sickness, people tend to start giving up hope, and
seek help by relying totally on the worldly creations rather than the
creator himself and this is when the problem rises. When we call
ourselves Muslims, then one very important part of submitting our will
to Allah is to have faith that the ever living and ever listening Lord is
the only source of help and strength, and there is no power and strength
besides Allah !
One should seek the assistance of Allah in forming a decision or taking a
course. The decision to buy a property or marriage or etc, small or big,
Allah has to be consulted first and foremost. This method is called as
Istikhaara and the details for this salah can be found on the link :
http://the-finalrevelation.blogspot.com/2012/06/how-to-pray-salatul-
istikhara-seeking.html
And after we have done istikhara (one or multiple times), then keep
invoking Allah with the most beautiful of supplications, some of which I
have tried to collect below because I believe in the verse of the Quran
wherein Allah says Invoke Me I will respond to your
(invocation)[Fussilat 40:60]
Please note that this is the work of a simple guy with a good internet
speed [smile], who has tried his best to make this document free from
mistakes, so whatever is correct and good, it is from Allah, and whatever
is wrong it is from my shortcomings. Thus, I request you to please
bring any kind of mistakes found herein, to my notice and I pray
that May Allah have mercy on the one who corrects me.

Also, kindly share this document because Prophet (s.a.w) said When a
person dies, all his deeds come to an end except three: sadaqah jaariyah
(ongoing charity, e.g. donation etc.), beneficial knowledge (which he has
taught or shared with others) or a righteous child who will pray for
him." (Reported by al-Tirmidhi, no 1376).
Note : One can supplicate to our Lord using the below mentioned duas
as much as he wants or any dua (in arabic) that he likes during salah
but only during two places :
1. In the sujood (after saying subhana rabbiyal aala min 3 times)

2. In the last sitting , when one completes the final tashahud
(attahiyat + ashadu allah ilaaha+ durood e ibrahim) he may
recite any dua he likes before the tasleem (i.e saying salaam on
both the shoulders and ending the prayer)
Note : one cannot recite any dua or verse from the Quran when he is in
sujood , because of the evidence : Ali b. Abi Talib reported: The
Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) forbade me to recite (the
Qur'an) in a state of bowing (rukoo) and prostration (sujood) [Ref:
Sahih Muslim,Book #004, Hadith #0972, 973,974,975,976,978]

Thus refrain from reciting any verse of the Quran in sujood and apart
from that one may invoke Allah using any duas (in Arabic only)

PLEASE TRY TO READ THE DUA IN ARABIC BECAUSE THE WRONG
PRONUNCIATION OF THE TRANSLITERATION CAN LEAD TO THE
CHANGING OF THE WORD, WHICH IN TURN WILL CHANGE THE
MEANING OF THE DUA.

Some reasons why duaas may not be answered :
I. Making Duaa in a hurry; i.e without praising Allah and then
sending blessings upon the Prophet (Peace and blessings be
upon him)

It is narrated from Faddaalah ibn Ubayd (may Allaah be
pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace
and blessings of Allaah be upon him) heard a man making
duaa in his prayer without glorifying Allaah or sending
blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be
upon him). The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of
Allaah be upon him) said, This man is in a hurry. He called
him and said to him or to someone else, When anyone of you
makes duaa, let him start by glorifying his Lord and praising
Him, then let him send blessings upon the Prophet (peace
and blessings of Allaah be upon him), then let him pray for
whatever he wants. [Ref: Abu Dawood (1481) and al-
Tirmidhi (3477) , Sunan Al Nasaee (1284)]

Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: Duaa is
detained (stopped) between the heavens and the earth and
no part of it is taken up until you send blessings upon your
Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). [Ref:
Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 486]

II. Lending money without any Proof or contract

He (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: There
are three who call upon Allaah but their prayer will not be
answered a man who lent money to another man but he did
not have (the loan) witnessed. (Saheeh al-Jaami, 3075)

The above command of rasool (Peace and blessings be upon
him) could be because of the following ayat:

You should not become weary (lazy, ignorant) to write it
(your contract), whether it be small or big, for its fixed term
[al-Baqarah 2:282 interpretation of the meaning]
For more Islamic literature please visit: www.the-finalrevelation.blogspot.com

III. Drinking or consuming any form of intoxicant

Narrated from Abd-Allaah ibn Amr who said: The Messenger
of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
Whoever drinks alcohol and gets drunk, his prayer will not
be accepted for forty days and if he dies he will go to Hell. But
if he repents, Allaah will accept his repentance. If he again
drinks alcohol and gets drunk, his prayer will not be accepted
for forty days and if he dies he will go to Hell. But if he
repents, Allaah will accept his repentance. If he again drinks
alcohol and gets drunk, his prayer will not be accepted for
forty days and if he dies he will go to Hell. But if he repents,
Allaah will accept his repentance. If he commits (this sin)
again, then Allaah pledges to make him drink the mud of
khabaal on the Day of Resurrection. They asked, O
Messenger of Allaah, what is the mud of khabaal? He said,
The juices of the people of Hell. [Ibn Maajah (3377), Sahih
Al Albani in Silsilat Al Saheeha (709) ]

IV. Wearing a Taweedh (amulet) for protection or seeking help

I heard the Messenger of Allaah (SAWW) It was narrated that
Uqbah ibn Aamir said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah
(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: Whoever
wears an amulet (taweedh), may Allaah not fulfil his need ,
and whoever wears a sea-shell, may Allaah not give him
peace. [Ref: Narrated by Ahmad, 16951]

V. Going to a Fortune Teller (even for Fun or for the heck of it)

Whoever goes to a fortune-teller and asks him about
something, his prayers will not be accepted for forty nights
[Ref: Saheeh Muslim, 4/1751]

For more Islamic literature please visit: www.the-finalrevelation.blogspot.com
VI. Being Impatient getting Frustated when duaas arent
answered

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of
Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: A
person will still be answered so long as his duaa does not
involve sin or severing ties of kinship, and so long as he does
not become impatient. It was said: O Messenger of Allaah,
what does being impatient mean? He said: Saying, I said
duaa, and I said duaa, and I did not receive any response,
then he becomes frustrated and stops saying duaa.
[Narrated by Muslim (2735), A similar narration is narrated
in Al-Muwatta hadith 29, volume 15.]

The person who makes duaa has to be resolute in his
supplication, striving hard and earnestly repeating his duaa.
A very good example of this is the below hadeeth wherein
prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him) kept on pleading
Allah continuously

One night he (Peace and blessings be upon him) stood (in
prayer) repeating one aayah until it was dawn:"If you do
punish them, they are Your servants; if You do forgive them,
You are indeed the Exalted in Power, the Wise." (Maa'idah
5:121) [with it he bowed, with it he prostrated, and with it he
supplicated], [so in the morning Abu Dharr (radi Allaahu
'anhu) said to him: "O Messenger of Allaah, you did not stop
reciting this aayah until it was morning; you bowed with it
and you prostrated with it] [and you supplicated with it,]
[whereas Allaah has taught you the whole Qur'aan;] [if one of
us were to do this, we would be stern with him?] [He said:
Indeed I asked my Lord, the Mighty and Sublime, for
intercession for my ummah: He granted me it, and it will be
possible if Allaah wills for whoever does not associate any
For more Islamic literature please visit: www.the-finalrevelation.blogspot.com
partners with Allaah [Sunan al Nasaa'i, Ibn Khuzaimah
(1/70/1), Ahmad, Ibn Nasr & Haakim, who declared it saheeh
and Dhahabi agreed.]

VII. Asking to break family ties (near or far) or something
unlawful

It was narrated from Abu Saeed that the Prophet (peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: There is no Muslim
who does not offer any duaa in which there is no sin or
severing of family ties but Allaah will give him one of three
things in return: either He will answer his duaa sooner, or
he will store it up for him in the Hereafter, or He will divert
an equivalent evil away from him because of it. They said:
we will say a lot of duaa. He said: Allaah is more
generous. [Narrated by Ahmad (10749), classed as saheeh
by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb wal-Tarheeb (1633)]

VIII. Compelling Allah

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abuz Zinad from al-
Araj from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah
bless him and grant him peace, said, When you are making
dua, do not say: O Allah, forgive me if You wish. O Allah,
forgive me if you wish. You should be firm in your asking, for
there is no compelling Him. [ Al Muwatta hadith 28, volume
15, Fiqh us Sunnah, Vol 4, No. 112b]

IX. Eating, Drinking, Spending, Buying, Living on Haraam money

Abu Hurairah (r) reported that the Prophet (s) said, O
people, Allah is Good and He, therefore, accepts only that
which is good. And Allah commanded the believers as He
commanded the Messengers by saying, O Messengers, eat of
the good things, and do good deeds; verily I am aware of what
you do, Quran 23.51 and He said: O those who believe, eat of
the good things that We gave you. Quran 2.172 The
Prophet, peace be upon him, then made mention of a person
For more Islamic literature please visit: www.the-finalrevelation.blogspot.com
who travels widely, his hair dishevelled, and covered with
dust. He lifts his hands and makes supplication, O Lord, O
Lord, but his diet (food) is unlawful (haram), his drink is
unlawful, and his clothes are unlawful, and his nourishment
(survival) is unlawful. How then can his supplication be
accepted? [Muslim and Ahmad]

Ibn Abbas reported, Once, when I recited the verses of the
Quran, O you people! Eat of what is on earth, lawful and
good (2.168) in the presence of the Prophet, peace be upon
him. Sad b. Abi Waqqas got up and said, O Messenger of
Allah! Ask Allah to make me one whose supplication is
heard. At this the Prophet, peace be upon him, said, O Sad,
consume lawful things and your supplications will be heard,
and by Him in Whose hands is the soul of Muhammad, when a
man puts into his stomach a morsel of what is forbidden his
prayers are not accepted for forty days, and a servant of Allah
whose body is nourished by usury or by what is forbidden
becomes more deserving of the Hell fire. [Al-Hafiz b.
Marduwiyah, Fiqh-us-Sunnah, volume 4: 110a]

Meaning, if a person eats, drinks, spends, consumes or lives on
Haraam earned money (stealing directly or indirectly, giving or
taking interest, lying to sell your product, cheating and etc), his
duaa will not be answered.

X. Making Dua with a distracted mind, or carelessly

Abu Huraira related that the Prophet said: Allah is angry with
those who do not ask Him for anything. [Tirmidhi]

XI. Showing bad manners while making Duaa.

One should not forget that he is talking and begging to the
Lord of the Lords and not some manager or school Principle.
Showing respect, humility and sincerity is a must while
making duaaa.

DUAS FOR HEALTH: (can be used
for stress /worry also)
You can either simply recite these duas , or you can even recite and blow
these duas upon yourself or you can also recite and blow these duas into
water and drink it or give it to the sick
It is recorded in 'Sahih Muslim' from Aisha (RAA) who said 'that
when a member of The Prophetic household became ill, The
Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) used to blow air on him after
reciting Suras No. 113 and 114. When the Prophet (Sallallahu
Alaihi wa Sallam) was in the illness of his last days in this world, I
('Aisha) did the same for him and used his own hand to rub him
(SAW), since his hand is more blessed than my hand.'

Abu dawood narrated in his sunan, that 'the Prophet (Sallallahu
Alaihi wa Sallam) entered the house of Thabit Ibn Qais Ibn
Shumas, while he was ill, and the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa
Sallam) said: "O Lord of The People! Remove distress
of Thabit " and he (the Prophet) took some earth of the valley of
Bathaan in al-Madinah and put it in a cup and then, blew air on it
(after some recitation) and poured water on the earth from his
mouth, and finally, poured the mixture on Thabit.'

The healing comes from Allah alone! When one recites or blows these duas,
he / she should keep in mind that the source of healing is from Allah alone,
the lord who gives and takes health. There is none equal to him and no one
can perform or is able to perform his duties of healing, giving life, and etc.
So trust him, put your faith in Allah, and recite for Allah is nearer to you
than your jugular vein.

DUAS FOR STRESS/ WORRY/ETC
It is recommended that the person only reads the duaa and supplicates
with these duas either in sujood (except Quranic verses) or generally
after prayer and at other times. However, if necessity arrives, then the
duas can be read and blown on the sick, or into water and then have the
sick person drink it as this is proven from the Sunnah.

Sending blessings (e.g durood e ibrahim) on the prophet

Prophet (s.a.w) said " A messenger (angel) came to me from my lord and
said, There is no worshiper who prays upon you (i.e sends peace and
blessings upon you) once, except that Allah will pray upon him ten
times!

A person (then) stood up and said, O Messenger of Allah! Should I make
half of my prayers upon you? He(saw) replied: If you wish. He then
asked, Should I make two-thirds of my prayers upon you? He replied:
If you wish. He then asked, Should I not make all of my prayers
upon? He(saw) replied:In that case, Allah would suffice you in your
needs of this world and the Hereafter!

(Reported by al-tirmidhi and authenticated by al-Albani in Sahih al-Jami
# 57)

Imam Ahmad in his Musnad ( 1/391) narrates that on d authority
of Abdullah Ibn Masood that prophet s.a.w said Whoever recites
this dua Allaah will remove his sorrow and replace his grief with
joy." The people said: "O Messenger of Allaah, we should learn
these words." He said: "The one hears them should learn them."

O Allah, I ask You of immediate prosperity, and beautiful patience against
misery and affliction, and abundance in sustenance, and peace from all
misfortunes; and I also ask You for perfect and perpetual peace of mind,
and I ask You to enable me to give thanks for granting me peace, and I
ask You (to make me prosperous enough) to be needless of other people,
and I cannot be saved (from sins) nor have I power (for good deeds), but
by the help of Allah, the Sublime, the Great

Our Lord, by Your Knowledge of the Unseen, and by Your Power over Your
creation, grant me life so long as You know life to hold good for me, and
grant me death when You know death to hold good for me. O Lord, I ask
You to make me fear You in secret and in the open, I ask You to make me
speak sincerely (the truth) at times of contentment and at times of anger,
I ask You to make me be moderate (frugality) in poverty and in wealth, I
ask You for a blessing that does not end, contentment that never ceases,
and for acceptance of Your decree. I ask You for a good life after death,
and I ask You for the joy of looking upon Your face and the longing to
meet You, with no harmful adversity or misleading trial (fitnah).

SOME USEFUL MEDICINES IN THE
LIGHT OF QURAN AND SUNNAH
HONEY
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chatper 16 Surah Nahl verses 68-69:

68 And thy Lord inspired the bee to build its houses in hills, on trees, and in
(men's) habitations;
69 Then to eat of all the produce (of the earth), and find with skill the spacious
paths of its Lord: there issues from within their (the bees) bodies a drink
(honey) of varying colors, wherein is healing for men: verily in this is a
Sign for those who give thought.

Honey is composed of sugars like glucose and fructose and minerals like magnesium,
potassium, calcium, sodium chlorine, sulphur, iron and phosphate. It contains
vitamins B1, B2, C, B6, B5 and B3 all of which change according to the qualities of
the nectar and pollen. Besides the above, copper, iodine, and zinc exist in it in small
quantities. Several kinds of hormones are also present in it. It also has different
phytochemicals--chemicals found in plants and different foods--that kill viruses,
bacteria, and fungus.

Honey has and can be used to treat allergies, sensitive skin, sore throats, wound
dressing, stomach-aches, dehydration, diarrhea, as a natural anti-septic, ulcers,
burns, etc.Other benefits of honey are known to include:

Easily digested: Because sugar molecules in honey can convert into other sugars
(e.g. fructose to glucose), honey is easily digested by the most sensitive stomachs,
despite its high acid content. It helps kidneys and intestines to function better.

Good source of antioxidants: It plays a big role in the prevention of cancer as well
as heart disease.

Has a low calorie level: Another quality of honey is that, when it is compared with
the same amount of sugar, it gives 40% less calories to the body. Although it gives
great energy to the body, it does not add weight.

Rapidly diffuses through the blood: When accompanied by mild water, honey
diffuses into the bloodstream in seven minutes. Its free sugar molecules make the
brain function better since the brain is the largest consumer of sugar, thus, reduces
fatigue.

Supports blood formation: Honey provides an important part of the energy
needed by the body for blood formation. In addition, it helps in cleansing the blood.
It has some positive effects in regulating and facilitating blood circulation. It also
functions as a protection against capillary problems and arteriosclerosis.

Does not accommodate bacteria: This bactericide (bacteria-killing) property of
honey is named "the inhibition effect". Experiments conducted on honey show that
its bactericide properties increase twofold when diluted with water.

Eat cumin seeds for every illness

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 7.591

Narrated by Khalid bin Sad
We went out and Ghalib bin Abjar was accompanying us. He fell ill on the way and
when we arrived at Medina he was still sick. Ibn Abi 'Atiq came to visit him and said
to us, "Treat him with black cumin. Take five or seven seeds and crush them (mix
the powder with oil) and drop the resulting mixture into both nostrils, for Aisha has
narrated to me that she heard the Prophet (saws) saying, 'This black cumin is
healing for all diseases except As-Sam.' Aisha asked 'What is As-Sam?' He (the
Prophet (saws)) replied 'Death.'

ALSO
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 7.592

Narrated by Abu Huraira
I heard Allah's Messenger (saws) saying, "There is healing in black cumin for all
diseases except death."

CONCLUSION
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 10 Surah Yunus verse 57:

57 O mankind! There hath come to you a direction (Guidance of the Quran and
the Sunnah) from your Lord and a healing for the (diseases) in your hearts,
and for those who believe a Guidance and a Mercy.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verses 155-157:

155 Be sure We shall test you with something of fear and hunger some loss in
goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil) but give glad tidings to those who
patiently persevere.

156 Who say when afflicted with calamity: "To Allah we belong and to Him
is our return." (inna lillahe wa inna ilayhe rajeoon)

157 They are those on whom (descend) blessings from Allah and Mercy and they
are the ones that receive guidance.
