Misuse of the gifts which distinguish
the human being from the anima....
!naduterated "easure in ife is the goa and endea#our of e#er$
"erson who sti i#es in dar%est s"iritua night on earth. &nd as
soon as he achie#es it he wi en'o$ his ife to the fu and on$ i#e
for his bod$ whie his sou goes without( and if the human being is
satisfied with "ure$ "h$sica "easures his state can be caed
e)ceeding$ im"erfect.
*t testifies to a "ure$ materiaistic attitude( for then the human
beings wi mere$ be an em"t$ she( he cannot be deemed an$
more( that is( more high$ ad#anced than a creature which ac%s
inteect and free wi( for the atter is not being used or is used in a
com"ete$ wrong wa$ b$ the "erson.
+he gifts which distinguish the human being from the anima are
intended to achie#e the sou,s higher de#eo"ment- their use sha
mere$ manage to achie#e the sou,s transformation. +he human
being( howe#er( on$ uses these gifts to enhance his bod$,s we.
being( and thus he is misusing them.
*n this case the circumstances of the indi#idua "erson are not
im"ortant( for the striving for the "easures of ife in itsef is a
misuse of his recei#ed energ$ of ife and the gifts bestowed u"on
him b$ God,s o#e.
&s to whether he wi find fufiment in his ife does not change the
fact that his desire worsens the dar%ness of sou( for his thoughts
and intentions im"ede the sou,s actua tas%.
/ence the "erson,s ife can remain em"t$ and de"ri#ed of earth$
"easure and sti not gain him "s$choogica higher de#eo"ment
because his desire is orientated towards earth$ "easure. Fufiment
is often denied to them in order to redirect their thoughts and
intentions towards s"iritua e)"eriences( and $et the$ fai to find
the "ath into the s"iritua %ingdom.
+heir highest goa is and remains earth$ ha""iness.... &nd such an
attitude wi not reduce their distance from God( thus it is the cause
of a deficienc$ which wi ha#e far.reaching conse0uences at the
end of their earth$ ife( and this deficienc$ can no onger be
rectified once the sou has eft its earth$ bod$.
On the other hand( a short time on earth can suffice to ma%e u" for
what had been negected if the human being ta%es the sha"ing of
his sou serious$.
+his is wh$ e#er more o""ortunities wi a""roach the human being
in his atter $ears of ife which he on$ needs to ma%e use of and
which( if he is wiing( can bring him incom"arabe bessings( for
God wi not ea#e misguided sous without he" e#en if the human
being does not ac%nowedge /im( i.e.( e#en if through his attitude
towards word$ "easures and earth$ "ossessions he turns towards
God,s ad#ersar$. /e strugges for his sou unti his death.
+ime and again /e is wiing to he" and guides him such that his
thoughts wi be turned to s"iritua s"heres. &nd time and again his
wi is gi#en an o""ortunit$ to ma%e a decision. For di#ine o#e is
such that it wi not et go of whate#er wants to withdraw from /im.
1#en so( God wi ne#er decisi#e$ inter#ene in the human being,s
wi but so e#ident$ bring those "eo"e together who can
com"ement each other( i.e.( /e brings bad$ informed "eo"e in
contact with those who can ser#e them in a gi#ing and instructi#e
wa$.
+his tas% is often difficut as ong as the word is sti auring( which
wea%ens the wi for the acce"tance of s"iritua truths. 2et
occasiona$ 'ust sight attem"ts wi suffice to ma%e a human being
rece"ti#e to them.... name$( when the word gi#es him #er$
itte.... !nfufied desire can aso ead to o#ercoming the desire( in
which case it was rich$ bessed.
+hen the "erson,s strugge with himsef( against his own cra#ing(
was made eas$ for him b$ den$ing him the satisfaction. &nd this(
too( is God,s grace( which can ead to the right decision of the free
wi.
One day people will thank God for what they so bitterly and
harshly condemn( if it was successfu.... or the$ wi suffer bitter
regret if their wi ignored this grace as we....
