You know you want to come to the con, but do you know everything you
I-CON memberships should about memberships this year? First of all, the prices for all
memberships have been reduced from last year! In addition to our standard
Y o u n o w h av e m o r e o p t i o n s . . .
options (child, student/faculty/senior, and adult 3 day memberships), We've
updated our group policy a bit, and we've added two packages (Family and
Emerald) as well as Gift Certificates. Prices listed in ($xx/$xx) format show the price until 12/31/09 and then the price from 1/1/10
– 3/15/10.
Child: If you are between the ages of 6 and 12, you should get the child membership; it's only $10 and gets you access for all three
days of the con. If you're younger than 6, you get in for free! Make sure you keep a guardian with you during the con, though!
Student ($39/$44): If you are a student, any age 13 or over, at any school, with a valid student ID, you should get the student
membership; it’s cheaper than the adult membership and gets you access all three days. Also, if you are a faculty or staff member of
a school, with a school ID, you also qualify for the student rate.
Senior ($39/$44): If you are age 62 or older and have a photo ID that verifies, this is for you. It costs the same as the student
membership (which is less than the adult membership price) and gets you three days to enjoy the con.
Adult ($49/$54): If the first three memberships don't apply to you, and you're not interested in the emerald package described below,
you should get this.
All of the above memberships are available for purchase through our website,
through our mail-in pre-registration form, and in stores.
NEW FOR I-CON 29
Family Package: We have two different family packages. Both are only available for purchase on the our website, www.iconsf.org.
The first gets 2 adult memberships, 2 children memberships, and 4 t-shirts for $125. The second gets 2 adult memberships, 2 student
memberships, and 4 t-shirts for $185.
Emerald Package: The emerald package costs $99, but don't let that scare you. It gets you admittance to the con for all three days,
a limited edition I-CON t-shirt, and gets you a banquet ticket where
you can dine with many of our big guests on I-CON Saturday night!
In addition, you will also skip the lines and enjoy 30-minute Pre-
Access to Pre-Registration to pick up your membership! There's a
limited number and they're only being sold in stores, so make sure
you get one before they're gone!
Gift Certificates- These are also new for I-CON 29! Now, we’ve
made it even easier for you to give the gift of a great three day
weekend of sci-fi and fantasy. Visit one of the local stores selling
memberships and ask for a Gift Certificate. You simply need to fill
out the recipient’s name and hand it over to them! At the convention
they present the Gift Certificate at the box office as payment and
they are on their way!
SAVE MONEY. SAVE TIME.
Group Discount Policy- Group discounts can only be applied for mailed in pre-registrations. For groups of 10-19 people, you get 10%
off the cost of each membership. For groups of 20 or more, you get 20% off the cost of each membership.

Prices increase on 1/1/10, so get your memberships now! And if you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to send an email
to membership@iconsf.org and we will be glad to help you!

Alumni reflections
P as t, Present & future of I-CON This past year marked the first time since the birth of I-CON in 1982 that
our event wasn't held on the Stony Brook University campus. Born out of
necessity as the Sports Complex would be undergoing renovations leaving us without a Dealers' Room or registration area,
we took the relocation on as a challenge.

Due to construction delays and later the economic crisis, those renovations have been postponed providing us the opportunity
to return home! We enjoyed our year at Suffolk County Community College - Brentwood, but we also missed our ancestral
base of operations and the advantage of having all con activities (except Saturday night Masquerade and a few others)
located on one campus.

We'll be holding some panel discussions to discuss our year away and its effects. What did it mean to the history of I-CON?
Is Stony Brook part of I-CON's DNA? We'll definitely be exploring the theme of "returning home" in SF, fantasy films and
literature and how that ties into how we feel about I-CON.

In addition, I-CON 30 in 2011 will be a true year of celebration for us. We'll be hosting a panel to discuss in advance what
is the best way to honor this important anniversary. We'll also be taking suggestions on any other alumni panel topics
you'd like to see. Drop a note to Alumni@iconsf.org. We'd like to hear new ideas and we'd like to hear from old friends as
well!
