Description of Service
This inter-county express service is a joint effort among Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), Santa Cruz Metropolitan
Transit District (SCMTD), Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA), California Department of Transportation
(Caltrans) and Amtrak.
All buses stop at Pasatiempo.
In downtown San Jose on Monday through Friday, buses serve key transfer points including the San Jose Caltrain/
Amtrak Station on Cahill, the downtown Transit Mall and the San Jose State University area.
On weekends and holidays, buses begin or end at the San Jose Caltrain/Amtrak Station on Cahill.
Baggage
The buses used for Highway 17 Express service provide storage space for baggage. Customers are responsible for
loading and unloading baggage. SCMTD, VTA, Amtrak, CCJPA and Caltrans are not responsible or liable in any manner
for baggage that is stolen, damaged or lost. No hazardous or combustible materials are allowed inside the bus or in the
undercarriage storage area. Access to the undercarriage storage space is available only at: Santa Cruz Metro Center,
Soquel Park & Ride, Cavallaro Transit Center, San Jose Caltrain/Amtrak Station, 5th & San Fernando, and 7th & San
Fernando stops.

Accessibility
All Highway 17 Express buses are lift-equipped and/or ramp-equipped and accessible to disabled passengers.
Bicycles
Bicycles may be carried onto the bus under the following conditions:
Bicycles are to be secured on the outside racks provided on a frst-come-frst-served basis (space is available for
three bicycles).
Only once the rack is full, no more than two (2) full-sized bicycles may be brought inside, as long as the bus is not
already at fully seated capacity.
Bikes must be secured by the bicyclist in the wheelchair area.
People in wheelchairs have priority over bicycles, and if necessary, a bicyclist will have to remove their bicycle when
asked to do so.
On a space-available basis, individuals may only board bicycles inside Highway 17 coaches at Diridon Station
southbound, Cavallaro Station northbound, or at Pasatiempo if the northbound trip does not serve Scotts Valley.

Description of Service
This inter-county express service is a joint effort among Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), Santa Cruz Metropolitan
Transit District (SCMTD), Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA), California Department of Transportation
(Caltrans) and Amtrak.
All buses stop at Pasatiempo.
In downtown San Jose on Monday through Friday, buses serve key transfer points including the San Jose Caltrain/
Amtrak Station on Cahill, the downtown Transit Mall and the San Jose State University area.
On weekends and holidays, buses begin or end at the San Jose Caltrain/Amtrak Station on Cahill.
Baggage
The buses used for Highway 17 Express service provide storage space for baggage. Customers are responsible for
loading and unloading baggage. SCMTD, VTA, Amtrak, CCJPA and Caltrans are not responsible or liable in any manner
for baggage that is stolen, damaged or lost. No hazardous or combustible materials are allowed inside the bus or in the
undercarriage storage area. Access to the undercarriage storage space is available only at: Santa Cruz Metro Center,
Soquel Park & Ride, Cavallaro Transit Center, San Jose Caltrain/Amtrak Station, 5th & San Fernando, and 7th & San
Fernando stops.

Accessibility
All Highway 17 Express buses are lift-equipped and/or ramp-equipped and accessible to disabled passengers.
Bicycles
Bicycles may be carried onto the bus under the following conditions:
Bicycles are to be secured on the outside racks provided on a frst-come-frst-served basis (space is available for
three bicycles).
Only once the rack is full, no more than two (2) full-sized bicycles may be brought inside, as long as the bus is not
already at fully seated capacity.
Bikes must be secured by the bicyclist in the wheelchair area.
People in wheelchairs have priority over bicycles, and if necessary, a bicyclist will have to remove their bicycle when
asked to do so.
On a space-available basis, individuals may only board bicycles inside Highway 17 coaches at Diridon Station
southbound, Cavallaro Station northbound, or at Pasatiempo if the northbound trip does not serve Scotts Valley.
