COOKING COMPETITION

1. Introduce the recipe ( in English ).

2. Divide the pupils into groups.

3. Pupils bring the ingredients.

4. Teacher demonstrates the recipe / cooking.

5. Pupils cook in groups.

6. Pupils serve with their own creativity.

7. The teacher judges the cooking.

8. The winner will be given the prizes.


Moral values : cleanliness, cooperative,
punctuality.



OUTDOOR GAMES

1. Divide the pupils into groups.

2. Games carried out in the morning.

3. Games played in league or knockout system.

BIG BOOK (STORY)

1. Divide the pupils into groups.

2. Teacher list down the stories.

3. Pupils choose the topic.

4. Teacher shows the example of the Big Book and
explains the steps on making the Big Book.

5. Teacher gives time for the pupils to complete
the Big Book in a week.

6. The pupils will present their group work.

7. The best Big Book will be rewarded.


Moral values : creativity, cooperation, time
management.




TALENTIME - SINGING

1. Teacher announces the events during assembly.

2. Teacher distributes the hand outs of the
activities to those who are interested to take
part in the talentime.

3. Pupils are given ample time to practise.

4. Pupils compete in the talentime.

5. The winners will be given the prizes.


Moral values : brave, self-esteem, creativity.

SPELL-IT-RIGHT

Objective :
To attract students to participate in English
activities regardless of their proficiency level.

1. The competition will be divided into 3
categories.
- Easy level beginner
- Medium level (intermediate)
- Difficult level.

2. The students will join the competition based on
their ability.

3. The judge will call the student based on their
category.

4. The word will be read and the students will
have to spell it correctly.

5. The students will proceed to the next round if
they manage to spell the word correctly within
30 seconds.

6. The last remaining student will be chosen as the
winner for each category.

*- The weak students will be given a list of easy
words before participating in the competition.
This will encourage them to memorize the
words and be prepared for the competition.

TREASURE HUNT

Exciting activities
It can attract pupils attention to learn English.

Values : Teamwork
Cooperation
Patience

Integrating English through :

Chain of clues

- picture with words
- word
- sign
- puzzle
- short message
- task - eg. grammar exercise, quiz
- rhyme
- questions

Place : - in the classroom
- around the school









Activities :

1. Plan the routes select 6 locations.

2. Divide pupils into groups.

3. Each group complete each task in a stipulated
time (according to level of difficulty of the
task). Teacher should take note on the time
taken by each group to complete the task.

4. After completing the task at a point, pupils will
move to another point until every group
completed their tasks at all points.

5. The group with the most correct answers and
the fastest time taken to complete the tasks will
be the winner.

* This activity can be done like explorace where
pupils complete certain task ( English related
task) before they are given a clue and then
proceed to the next clue.

1. Select suitable movies.
Examples:

Wonderland.

2. Teachers watch movies and prepare questions.

3. Viewing Time - after recess.

5. Teacher gives time for the pupils to complete
the Big Book in a week.

MURAL DRAWING

Objectives:
1. To beautify/decorate the school walls.
2. To develop their cooperation.
3. To develop and explore their creativity.
4. As a remembrance for the students.

Target Group : Year 6 (divided into groups)

Time : Set up a time table. (groups take turns with
subject teachers)

Things needed : brush, paints, A4 papers, walls to
draw

How to proceed the activity:

1. Teachers set up a meeting, discuss the decided
activity, choose topic/theme. (discuss with other
panels)

2. Discuss the budget to carry out the activity.

3. Prepares the things to do the activity.

4. Set up the time table to make sure the activity
will be carried out smoothly.

5. Divide the pupils into groups, assign teachers for
each group.


Steps to do the activity:

1. First week
- paints the background, sketch the chosen
pictures eg. trees (words) of English, nouns,
verbs in English.

2. Second week
- colour the given pictures, starts with the
dominant pictures.

3. Third week
Finish up the extra details.

4. End of the project
- take pictures for documentation.
- students state out eg. nouns and verbs after
they had finish the activity.

3. Discuss the place to plant the vegetables.

4. Divide pupils into groups.

5. Prepare the seeds.

EMK entrepreneurship

Objectives :
1. Pupils able to learn how to plant and take care
of vegetables.
2. Pupils are able to sell the vegetables to their
friends and teachers.

*Snap photographs (from the first day of the
activity until pupils sell the vegetables) as
documentation.

- Teacher gives long spelling words:
eg- BUTTERFLY, IMPORTANCE, INDEPENDENCE
- Pupils form as many words as they can
eg. but, fly, try

2.3 Word chain
- Teacher write the first word.
- Pupils continue writing by using the final letter
in the first word as the first letter in the next
word.
- Pupils who are not able to produce a word is
disqualified from the game.
