My dear visitors our city has gone a long way since its founding in Spanish regime, from a
sleepy coastal village, now it has become the gateway to Western Mindanao. Dipolog has
remained persistent and from then on much can be said about fleeting progress and
development. However we are not settled on current status, as a community we continually toil
and aspire for more. We are confident, that by the grace of God which is apparent in richness of
our agriculture and the hardworking traits of Dipolognons there is nothing that we cannot
achieve.
Despite the citys rapid advancement, visitors are secured, people remain friendly and
hospitable. It fact many tourists who have gone to our city find themselves falling in love with
our hospitality. It is a different kind of values which already existed thousands of years ago. For
instance when one visits a friends house, they greet him with a very warm welcome. They let
their visitor sit down and prepare them a meal or a snack. They make sure you had a great time
visiting them.
In order to facilitate the growing number of tourists, city government made Dipolog accessible.
Now our city is conveniently accessible by air, land, and sea. We have two daily return flights
from Manila /Cebu, concrete highway which link Dipolog to the cities of Pagadian, Ozamis,
Iligan and Cagayan de Oro where Lagin-dingan International airport situated, there is also inter
island vessels which connect us from Dumaguete and Cebu.
