We all swing our legs and arms when we walk. The hu-
man being’s gate is made up of several stages including:

the initial contact with the ground,

the foot becoming flat,
the midstance,
and the heel off.

This continues with the same phases on the opposite foot.

At the same time:
arms swing,
torsos twist,
and heads bob.
