Kindness: Having tender and gentle words and ways. (Ephesians 4:32)
Our holiness is felt by others when we treat one another with kindness.

SCHOOL CLOSING INFORMATION: If it becomes necessary to close school on short

notice, parents may secure the details by listening to the television stations or the following radio stations,
WEEC-FM (100.7), WFCJ-FM (93.7), WCDR-FM (90.3), and WHIO-AM (1290). When there is bad
weather, one of two messages will be conveyed: (1).The entire DCSS is closed or a particular school(s)
within the system is closed: or (2).The entire DCSS is delayed so many hours. If no message is aired, then
one can assume that school is scheduled as usual. When the message is aired that the opening of school
for that day is delayed, this applies only to those riding the school buses, car pools, and individual parents
or students who drive to school. If you are dependent on public school transportation, you should abide
by the stated schedule of that particular school district. If DCSS has school and one of the involved public
schools is closed, students from the closed school district will be excused.

MISSION SERVICE HOURS

Each student at DCHS is privileged to meet hours of mission service per year (Freshmen need
20 hours; Sophomores-Seniors need 30 hours). To report your hours use the blue form found in
the wall rack outside the high school office. The Parent/Student Handbook gives more details
and a list of approved ministries.

2
PHYS ED CREDIT: Dayton Christian does not offer physical education during the school year
but the state requires 1/2 credit of physical education during high school. Your student may
complete this requirement through participation in an interscholastic sport or through aerobic
exercise. The forms explaining the criteria for earning Educational Option Physical Education
credit are available in the wall rack on campus or on the website under “Academics”. When a
student submits the report the grade will show up on NetClassroom in a timely manner.

LOST and FOUND: containers are located by the athletic bulletin board on the 3 rd floor of C
building and as you enter the Cafeteria. Containers are emptied every couple of weeks and
unclaimed items are donated to Goodwill.

CHANGE OF DATE FOR PACKET-ASSEMBLY DAY - Volunteers Needed

The Admissions/Business Office is seeking volunteers to help with our 2010-2011 new application packet
assembly day. This year we will be assembling packets on Thursday, January 14, 2010, beginning at
around 8:30 am until around 3:00 pm in a room just off the DCS Cafeteria. Volunteers can e-mail Kevin
Cordner at kcordner@daytonchristian.com or call him at 937-291-7215. Please come help us prepare for
a great next school year!

KROGER CARDS:
There is power in numbers. Kroger Card sales for November were in excess of $101,000! The Kroger
Card Program is working and can grow significantly with more participants. Your purchases make a
difference. They really do! Remember to use your Kroger cards!

CLINIC NEEDS: There is a great need for water, 7-UP and peppermints. If you can supply
some of these items please drop them off at the clinic. Thank you.
