Adventure Programs
The mission of our Adventures program is to enrich the worldview of the
thinkers, leaders, and visionaries of tomorrow. We aim to achieve this
task by educating high school and university students about
international business models, sustainable agricultural practices, and
cultural movements on the fringe of society. Inspired by the ideology of
the French philosopher Jean-Franois Lyotard, we believe that the most
crucial classroom in which students can gain a more nuanced
understanding of the self as well as the world is the international
landscape. Whether exploring the jaw-dropping countryside of the
province of Misiones or delving into the aesthetically rich labyrinths of
Buenos Aires, students will have unique opportunities to learn from
local businesses and sub-cultures. We take students off the well-worn
path to teach the real world efficacy of treading into the wider world.
Adventure programs occur in 15-day cycles. Students arrive in Denver,
Colorado for one day of orientation, which includes lodging and
breakfast, before traveling together as a group to the adventure
destination. Upon departing, the group will spend a final day together
in Denver reflecting upon the lessons of the journey.
Our Programs are:

Yerba-Culture +:
Adventure in the Province of Misiones
(May-September) 15-days
Students will learn about the cultivation of yerba mate
in Scape Treader's small family-run organic farms in the
gorgeous province of Misiones in Northeastern
Argentina. While at the farm, students will learn first-
hand about cooperate labor models and
environmentally sustainable agricultural practices. This
adventure program requires moderate service and deep
cultural immersion.
Counter-Culture:
Adventure in Buenos Aires
(May-September) 15-days
The most vivid cultural experiences are often had by
seeking out the fringe. Students will be given an
opportunity to explore a number of sub-cultures
including the traceurs that practice Parkour, the
contemporary art community, and the self-publishing
literary scene. This adventure program requires light to
heavy physical exertion (depending on how rigorously
students wish to practice Parkour) and deep cultural
immersion.

Orientation
Orientation Pre-departure orientation is mandatory for all
adventurers. Topics covered include instructions on food safety,
hygiene, and preventing injury and illness. Orientation is held in
Denver, Colorado, one day before departure.
Global Citizenship
Scape Treader Adventures aims to teach students about being
innovative global citizens.
