PUBERTY

Puberty is the change from childhood to adulthood. The transition is so important

in that it marks the social status of an individual in the society. It is another level
in life.
Adolescence is one of the difficult stages in life, this is so because at this stage a
person is inexperienced and strange processes start taking place in ones body.
There are certain changes that young ones fail to understand. The transition takes
place in both girls and boys.
Most of the times parents should try by all means to understand their young ones
,because at this stage the behavioral pattern changes drastically. The worst result
of the transition is lack of respect to elders. How? At this stage, young people
needs more freedom than the one should be given. They need to be independent.
However, parents know what is good for their children as a result they try to
shape the life of their children to the best level.
The need for freedom and independence is the outcome of mutual understanding
which develop between opposite sex. The attraction and feelings are naturally,
they are part of growing up. Both sexes want to be loved and spend more time
with the opposite sex. Due to the fact that they are new to the system, they find it
hard to control their sexual feelings.
The intervention of parents and other elders is now apparently seen. They should
now explain to them the changes taking place in their lives. They should also tell
them that, what is going on in their lives is normal and it is part of life any one
should go through. Loving and caring parents can also tell their children how they
dealt with adolescence, too they should also tell them the effect of failing to
control their mood swings and sexual feelings.
There are many myths that surround puberty. One of them is that, having sex
with hundred of girls is a sign of being a real man. On the contrally , the failure to
control ones sexual desire is lack of self control, which is the most prominent
feature of animals as distinguished from man.
Thus, parents should frankly tell their children that giving in for sex is like
imitating animals which have no self control and the other factor beyond the
scene is diseases. There are hundreds of sexual transmitted diseases and the
100% remedy is abstinence. Unless they want to play the life with chicken, they
can indulge in immoral and filth behaviours. The fact is sex is sweet but the results
are bitter. Why? According to the definition of the word abstinence, the word
itself means avoiding doing something which is sweet at a wrong time. True sex
is good and perfect only for married people. This principle is supported both by
the traditional standards and religious. Therefore, having sex before marriage is
defiling oneself. In some parts of the globe, the victim were killed or cursed.
Because it was believed that the act of having sex by young people brings
misfortune and bad luck in the village.
The bible also strongly condemns sex before marriage either old or young. People
who break this rule have no portion in the kingdom of God Jehovah.
The following are some of the changes at puberty:
BOYS:

The voice becomes horse, loud and deep
2 Pubic hairs develop in armpits and on private parts.
3 Elongation and enlargement of the member or phallus.
4 Bears develop though, not a must.
5 Wet dreams or discharging of semen
6 The chest broadens
7 Pimples develop on the face
8 Erection

GIRLS
1 Breasts develop
2 Enlargement of vagina
3 Broadening of the abdomen
4 Development of hair on the private parts and in the arm pit
5 Wet dreams
6 Erection of the clit

THE ISSUE BEHIND PUBERTY
During puberty sexual feelings start. The sign of sexual feeling is the strong
emotion or passion that is accompanied by erection in boys and wetness of the
vagina. Strong erection can cause some sort of pain to the phallus. What causes
an erection? The phallus has no bone, the sturdiness of the penis is as result of
the short and complex process. The process starts in the brain. HOW? Sometimes
you can just see thighs, breasts or underwear, when you start thinking of what
you have seen it is possible to have vivid picture of copulation this will result into
a wrong desire. From the eyes the information will sent to the brain and the brain
will command the heart to supply blood the veins on the penis when the vein arte
filled up with blood the penis will become firm. When the member becomes firm
it leads to the dilation of the urethra, thereby creating passage for spermatozoon
or sperms. Sexual feelings are natural the only question is how to handle when
you find yourself in such a situation.
There is a debate if girls also have strong sexual feelings like boys. This makes
some people to conclude that though they have it is as not as strong as boys. But
this is not true, the truth girls are able to control their feelings. But again girls are
able to be seduced. There are instances where girls have raped boys, but it is not
common.
VIRGINITY
Virginity is the state of being a virgin. Virgin is a person who has never had sex
either male or female. Though virginity seems to be only important to girls the
fact is virginity is both for girls and boys. The only of way losing virginity is by
having sex. There are some factors that are related with virginity specifically for
girls. For example, there is a thin covering on the opening of the vagina it is called
hymen. Many people say that this thin sheet of tissues is the only proof that a girl
has never met a man before. However, hymen can be removed by sport activities
like bicycle riding, tree climbing and other activities involving the friction of the
genitals. Thus, hymen is not an assurance of virginity.
The other factor is wetness of the vagina. Many people say that if a girl is having a
wet vagina is a sign that she slept with many men or boys. On the centrally, this is
100% false. The wetness of the vagina cab a result of being turned on. On the
other hand it is part of transition.
If one fails to control sexual appetite my result into losing his or her virginity.
According to the Zambian traditional set up, virginity of a girl is valued a lot. For
certain tribes like the Tongas, Namwangas and the Mambwes, girl children are a
source of wealth. The man offering a proposal for marriage is expected to pay
lobola in form of money or cattle. Traditionally in Tonga, virgins are referred to as
hens, while in Lala are called chisotwe and the Bembas- mbeka.
Unfortunately, the value of tradition is gradually diminishing and this have
resulted into a loss of culture and other rich norms and standards which helped
parents to bring up children in a good way. However, there are some tribes which
are holding up to the traditional way of life and they deserve a credit.
School has contributed to the decline of tradition way of life as it is viewed as a
primitive way of life. In the name of modernization it has become difficult for
parents to bring up their children traditionally. Modernization has eradicated the
norms and standards which traditional way of life.
