The project involved a linear stability analysis of fluid flows to find the amplitude of perturbations to induce turbulence
Studied research papers and critically analysed transition to turbulence in a plane Poisuelle flow
Successfully reproduced the neutral stability curves to wavelike perturbations and found the critical
Reynolds number for the same using numerical solutions on MATLAB
Extended the results to complex, particle-laden flows by accounting for the fluid-particle interaction,
and successfully reproduced results for the same
Verifying the validity of the theory to plane and complex fluid flows within flexible walls
BIOSYNTH [MAY 13-APR 14]

Biosynth is the first student initiative to install a biodiesel production facility in India
Understood biodiesel production using waste vegetable oil, sunflower oil, and acid oil
Operated, maintained, and troubleshot a pilot plant with maximum production capacity of ~200 litres
Analysed the protocol for production using acid oil having >30% FFA (free fatty acid) content
Conducted various DOEs (Design of Experiment) using Taguchi's method, using various different
parameters, to increase biodiesel yield
RASHTRIYA CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS [MAR 13]

Surveyed the Sulphuric Acid Plant at Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers, Chembur to understand the
production, storage and transport of sulphuric acid
Prepared a detailed report, explaining the complete working of the plant using process flow diagrams,
with a focus on material and energy balances
