T-Code: MMPI - from Tool Bar select - System - User Profile - Own Data - In parameter Tab
Enter "MMPI_READ_NOTE" in parameter Field

Then, Remove assignment of Plants from Company Code (In SPRO).

Now use T-Code OMSY & Set the required Period.

Re-assign Plants to Company Code & Check whether correct period is open thru T-Code -
MMRV

Now use T-code - OMWD to Assign Valuation grouping code to Valuation area because the
earlier data gets deleted when assignment of Plants was removed.

Use the transaction code OMS2 then select FERT (for Finished Goods) or any required
Material type & then click on the Quantity and Value update.
Select your plant or valuation area and put Tick Marks in Value update and Quantity update

Hope this helps,
Thanks,
Jignesh Mehta

this document is technically vague and incomplete and even dangerous without all the warnings
SAP gives in the various SAP notes for MMPI like Note 487381 - RMMMINIT: Protection against
unintentionial execution
"....you must be aware of the consequences of period closing with initialization. This note describes
the possible data inconsistencies that might occur if you carry out the initialization in a productive
system .... these inconsistencies can only be corrected within the remote consulting purchased
separately...."

you wrote "Enter "MMPI_READ_NOTE" in parameter Field" but did not say anything about the
parameter value
without parameter value the parameter is useless

Never try this, opening closed period absolutely not to be tried at all unless it is extremely business
critical and to be done only with support from SAP.

Opening the closed Posting periods is not acceptable in SAP and for critical business reasons we
want to open then we need to take help from SAP remote access.

The process which is mentioned above will cause data inconsistencies, so be aware of using this.
