COMPUTER SKILLS
ROBOCON 2010
The Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon) is an Asian Oceania College robot competition
founded in 2002 by Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union. In the competition Robots compete to
complete a task within a set period of time. The contest aims to help advance engineering and
broadcasting technologies in the region. “Robo-Pharaohs Build Pyramids” is the theme of
ROBOCON 2010 being organized by Egypt. I am working in the team of IIT Roorkee for this
competition. In this we are making four robots (one manual and three autonomous robots) to
complete the task of building the pyramids in the given sequence under the prescribed time
limit.
Apart from my compulsory courses I am also working on Pattern recognition and Artificial
intelligence. Accurate brain MRI segmentation is still an open problem. In this project several
Machine learning algorithms such as - SVM, RVM, Bayesian Inference and Neural Network will
be used for automatic Brain MRI segmentation into White Matter (WM), Gray Matter (GM) and
Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF).
IIT Roorkee, under the guidance of Prof. J. D. Sharma, Dean, SRIC, IIT Roorkee
It is a first of its kind innovative model to bridge the divide between faculties & students. T he
first phase of the project is already implemented which was appreciated and received
splendid response. The online form of the same is under construction.
When Binary stars rotate, their intensity varies according to time. I showed the rotation of these
stars about their common centre of mass and showed how intensity varies when they rotate.
(This project received 3rd prize in SRISHTI’09)
SRISHTI is an annual exhibition of Hobbies Club at IIT Roorkee.
