Holiday Food Baskets
We are currently collection non-
perishable food donations for the
Thanksgiving and Christmas Basket
distribution. Please bring your dona-
tions to the boxes at the entrance to the
Church. The giving of food baskets to
needy families during the holidays has
been an ongoing sign of the parish's
generosity and of Stewardship in ac-

Join us for brunch Sunday, November 9th, in the par-
ish hall, 8:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a special per-
formance by Fr. Mel and the St. Columba School choir.
Tickets can be purchased after 7:30 and 9:30 Mass this
weekend or at the school office. For more information

Brunch Concert
All Souls Novena
A Novena for All Souls begins today, Sunday, Novem-
ber 2nd. Offering envelopes are available in the pews if
you would like to make a donation in memory of a loved
one. The envelopes with the names will be placed on the
altar during Mass throughout the nine-day Novena.
Baby Bottle Drive
This weekend, Culture of Life Family Services (COLFS)
visits us to conduct a Baby Bottle Drive. COLFS is a non-
profit organization dedicated to helping women in un-
planned pregnancies with free Ultrasound, free preg-
nancy tests, and a variety of other free medical services.
COLFS is the flip-side to Planned Parenthood and of-
fers true reproductive health care and abortion alterna-
tives to women. For more info about their services, visit

Stewardship Opportunity
There will be Lector and Eucharistic Minister training
on Monday, November 3rd at 6:30 p.m. in the
church. If you would like to learn more about these min-

3863. Help is especially needed
for the Sunday Mass at 5:30 p.m.
This is a very special way you can
serve the parish in "Stewardship
as a Way of Life."
Our Grief & Bereavement Support Group will have a
prayer service in remembrance of our loved ones at our
next meeting on Monday, November 3rd. We will
meet in the Ministry Center. The service will begin at
7:00 pm and conclude with light refreshments. You are
welcome to bring a picture or memory item for the ser-
vice.

sic Room. All men of the parish are welcome and encour-

MENS FAITH GROUP: First Saturday, 8:45 am in the
MC. All men are invited to this informal spiritual gather-
ing to share prayer, discussion and donuts.

PRAYER MEETING: Join us in praise, songs, scrip-
ture readings, teachings and worship every Thursday at
7:00 p.m. in the Ministry Center.

R.C.I.A.: Sundays in the Ministry Center, 10:45-1:15.

Monthly Schedule
On Sunday, November 9th, at 11:30 a.m. (following
a parish brunch) there will be a meeting of St.
Columba Alumni in the Parish Hall. This will be our
first official meeting to discuss the development of an
Alumni Foundation that will help support tuition as-
sistance. Please spread the word to fellow alumni.
Attention St. Columba Alumni
We have a new drop-off point for aluminum cans and
plastic bottles (sorry, no glass). Just drive up to the
large storage structure on the west end of the gravel lot.
Thanks for supporting our school and Youth Group.
Recycling Program
Thanksgiving Scavenger Hunt...More details closer
to the date. All that is collected will be given to the Men's
Club for their Holiday Food Baskets.

Thanksgiving Dinner with our Marines...The
youth are adopting service men from Camp Pendleton
for Thanksgiving Dinner. It will be prepared and served
here at St. Columba. We need to transport them here
and bring them back at the end of the day. We have vol-
unteer families who will be cooking and serving our ser-
vice men, giving up their time with their own extended
families for this ministry. If anyone would like to help
with this project by contributing food or money to help
the youth, please call Robin at 619-922-7941 or email
robin.keator@yahoo.com. You may also drop off your
donations to the Ministry Center.

Buy your 10K drawing tickets today!

This weekend, you can purchase 10k tickets after Mass.
Tickets may be purchased with cash, check, or credit
card. Everyone who purchases a dinner ticket or 10k
ticket will receive free admission to the schools annual
Spaghetti Dinner on March 7, 2015. Thank you for sup-
porting St. Columba School.
