Sponsorship Request Overview for the City of Yarra Live Music Festival Introduction The inaugural Leaps and Bounds Music Festival will take place over 17 days and nights from Friday 5 July to Sunday 21 July. The festival will be held within the City of Yarra. The primary aims of the festival are to: ! Highlight existing excellence of live music within the City Of Yarra ! Provide backing to co-ordinate and produce unique artist collaborations ! Promote specific feature events at non-traditional as well as established venues. The festivals core element is local local artists, performing in local spaces, witnessed by local audiences. Uniquely Australian artists and collaborations. The festival has been seed funded by the City of Yarra and is auspiced by Music Victoria. The name of the festival is taken from the iconic song of the same name by Paul Kelly that has references to Yarra landmarks, and refers directly to lifestyle and entertainment within Yarra. Paul has personally approved the use of the name referencing to his song. About the City of Yarra and its Live Music Venues It is expected that over 60,000 patrons will attend the festival over the 17 days of the festival, and reporting will be completed at the conclusion of the festival to reflect actual attendances and exposure. The festival is expected to involve 100 venues with 500 participating gigs and events. It is expected that there will be a mix of 18+ and all ages events, further expanding the audience of the festival. There will also be a mix of free and ticketed events aimed at expanding the live music audience with the City of Yarra. As well as the many gigs what will occur during the festival, there will also be workshops, walking and bus tours and exhibitions planned. The City of Yarra contains a wide scope of venues to suit all audiences, and wide venue participation has been confirmed.
