Retail interest was seen in Malwatte Plantations, ACME Printing & Packaging and Lanka Century Investments. Furthermore, mixed interest was seen in Lanka IOC, Piramal Glass and Vallibel Power Erathna. Foreigners remained active closing as net buyers mainly due to foreign purchases in John Keells Holdings. Banks, Finance and Insurance sector was the top contributor to the market turnover (due to Peoples Leasing & Finance) whilst the sector index gained 0.97%. The share price of Peoples Leasing & Finance gained Rs 0.50 (2.40%) closing at Rs 21.30. Diversified sector was the top contributor to the market turnover (due to John Keells Holdings) whilst the sector index gained 0.30%. The share price of John Keells Holdings closed at Rs 250 .00 gaining Rs 0.90 (0.36%) whilst the foreign holdings increased by 1,402,767 shares.
