Second Language Acquisition: French and Spanish



Nazarbayev Universitys Department of World Languages and Literatures invites applications
for two full-time Assistant to Full Professor positions in Second Language Acquisition. One of
the posts requires a specialization in French language and the other one a specialization in
Spanish. Secondary specialization is open but an additional language will be considered an
advantage.

The successful candidates will play an integral part in developing the departments growing
French and Spanish programs. Main duties will include syllabus planning, coordinating language
classes, teaching two language courses per semester, and supervising language instructors and
teaching assistants. Applicants should have native or near-native proficiency in the target
language and English as well as significant experience of teaching language at university level.
A research record or the potential for innovative research is required. Applicants must have been
awarded a PhD by the time of appointment in August 2013.

Initial 3-year contract with the possibility of renewal. Benefits offered by Nazarbayev University
