EB = 7:05 a.m. 8:00 a.m.
Period 1 = 8:05 a.m. 9:00 a.m.
Period 2 = 9:05 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
Period 3 = 10:10 a.m. - 11:05 a.m.
Period 4 = 11:10 a.m. - 12:05 p.m.
Extended Lunch = 12:05 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.
Intervention Period = 12:10 - 12:40 p.m.
Intervention Lunch = 12:45- 1:15 p.m.
Period 5 = 1:20 p.m. - 2:15 p.m.
Period 6 = 2:20 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. - End of School day
Period 7 = 3:20 p.m. 4:15 p.m.

SENIORS As scholarship information becomes available to you please remember: NEVER pay money to
apply to receive FREE money. That means dont pay anyone to do scholarship searches for
you! Any questions please see Ms. Loving.


BOYS SOCCER Boys Soccer tryouts starts today 11/3 - Friday 11/7 at 3:30pm North of the Track, Must have
Physicals completed prior.


SENIORS If you completed the on-line application for Reedley College/Fresno City College; you will be
receiving an email from SCCCD (State Center Community College District) with instructions that
you will need to follow for completing the On-line orientation, DO NOT DELETE! The on-line
orientation is open. PLEASE check your email daily. Email is the #1 form of communication that
colleges use. Any questions or if you need help see Ms. Loving.


CLASS SHIRTS Class shirts are available for purchase while supplies last. You can purchase your shirt in the
finance office for $13 and then bring your receipt to room 1005. Sizes and quantities are
limited so get them while they are here. Also, we are now selling the black ASB shirts for
$13. This Fridays game is a Black Out so if you are a Selma High student with an ID card
and are wearing any black SHS spirit shirt, you get in free.


SENIORS It is extremely IMPORTANT that we have your social security number in our records ASAP if we
dont already have it. You being eligible to receive FREE money for college will be in jeopardy!
If you have a social security number please come and see Ms. Loving to make sure that we
have it in our system. If you are unsure or you have any questions Ms. Loving will help you.

IPODS phone is confiscated; A Parent/guardian must come to Selma High to pick up the item. No
excuses. Please be respectful of the Selma High School Rules.


LIBRARY The library will be closed this Friday November 7
th
from 7 am-2pm, for library staff to attend a
district library meeting. The library will reopen on Friday after two oclock and will remain open
till 6:15 for the after school program.


RIVARLY WEEK Next week is Rivalry Week as our volleyball, water polo and football teams will take on the long
standing rival, the Kingsburg Vikings. We will celebrate the week with daily dress ups and
activities at lunch. Our water polo and volleyball teams will play Kingsburg on Thursday and on
Friday our JV/Varsity football teams will travel to Kingsburg for their final league game of the
season. We need students in the stands at each of these events!


VANQUISH THE Next Friday; we will have our annual Vanquish the Vikings Festival during an extended lunch
VIKINGS FESTIVAL There will be carnival games, food booths, and a mini rally. All food and game booths will
require tickets which we will sell for $1 each in advance beginning on Wednesday at
lunch. Cash will not be taken at any booth so plan ahead.

FOOD BOOTHS: Pizza, Panda Bowls, Nachos, Frito Boats, Sals Burritos, Enchiladas and Flautas, Hot Cheetos/Cheese, Kettle
Corn, Jamba Juice, Indian Sweets, Pazookies
CARNIVAL GAMES: Soda Ring Toss, Plinko, Corn Hole Game, Goodie Walk, Fish Bowl Game, Inflatables, Jousting, Cake Walk,
Soda Ring Toss, Dart Pop, Bungee Run, Pie Throwing, and more!


CANNED FOOD Our annual Canned Food Drive will kick off on Monday, November 3 through all 1
st
period
DRIVE classes. All cans will be donated to New Hope Church who will in turn donate to Selma families
in need. Like always, we will award the class with the highest can per student ratio with a
pizza party. Cans are worth 1 point and Top Ramen is 10 for 1 point. The absolute last day to
bring a can will be Thursday, November 20 in 1
st
period. Also, every box you bring in for the
cans is worth 2 points per class. We need boxes!! Lets do our part and help those in the
community that need it most.


KICK BUTTS BALL Thanks you to both teams who competed on Friday in the annual Kick Butts student vs. Staff
softball game at lunch. The staff pulled out the upset by earning 8 runs in the final inning to
take the win. Coach Erik Lewis hit the walk off game winning grand slam to ensure the 10-9
victory. Great job to all involved and thanks to all of you who came out to show your support.


LIBRARY Ever wanted to be President for a day? Log on to the SHS library webpage this month to try
your luck on being commander-in-chief. In the Executive Command on-line game, you can be
President for four years! Check it out!


SAT/ACT Seniors; if you havent taken your SAT or ACT or you just want to take it again; December is
the LAST test date that you can take if you are applying to a UC or CSU. The deadline to
register for the December 6

VOTE FOR BOOKS! Our third genre candidate we are describing to you today is Historical fiction. Historical
fiction is a made-up story that takes place during an actual time period in history. An author
invents characters or incidents but the details of life during the storys time period are accurate.
For example, the historical fiction story may be about a young boy growing up during the
Middle Ages or a girl who lived during the Civil War. Come to the library and see the display of
Historical Fiction books. Elections will be held November 4
th
during lunch.



ALL STUDENTS Please use the crosswalk at all times. Especially before school and after school. Wright Street
is particularly busy with the usual congestion of cars and buses. The pedestrian crossing is
there to keep us safe.


TEACHER OF THE Congratulations to Mr. Garcia for being voted teacher of the week!! Students say he is
WEEK hardworking and very funny. Remember to come by the student office and vote for your
favorite teacher!!


SENIORS The senior panoramic (group) picture will be taken on Friday, November 7
th
, in the stadium
during the last 20 minutes of 4
th
period. Please make sure you get to the stadium promptly by
11:50. Start making t-shirts with your friends now to stand out in this memorable picture.
Panoramic pictures will be on sale in December. Stay tuned for details.


ALL STUDENTS Have you checked your school email? Important school information, including extended lunch
tutorial assignments, will be sent to your school email. If you havent logged in this year its
never too late to start.

SADIE HAWKINS Attention all ladies... It's time to start thinking about who you'd like to ask to Sadie's! The class
of 2018 is excited to host this years "Sadie's Goes 80's" at Cal Skate in Clovis on Friday,
November 21. Tickets will go on sale a week in advance and all guest passes are due Nov. 5.
Get your date lines up because this is one event you won't want to miss!


SPORT PHYSICALS Students, sports physicals/clearance cards will not be given during class time. Please see Ms.
Bonilla before or after school at break or lunch.


P.E. MAKEUPS If you need to make up PE credits see Mrs. Sultenfuss.


CSU APPLICATIONS Seniors; if you havent applied to a CSU or you need help finishing your CSU application, our
CSU representative will be on campus today to help you. See Ms. Loving to make sure that you
are signed up.
