Product CO2 footprint

In this calculation, CO2 footprint is covering the use phase of the product
as the most environmental impact originates there. Note: for electricity
CO2e is about the same as CO2 as other green house gases are less
than 1% of the electricity production emissions.

Nokia Siemens Networks Substance List
Nokia Siemens Networks has compiled a Substance List based on
regulatory requirements and reasonable facts. The Substance List
identifies substances in two categories:

10 (20)

Banned or restricted substances category identifies substances

that are banned or restricted in applications (solders, pastes, etc.),

parts, subassemblies and accessories related to Nokia Siemens

Networks products and/or packaging.

4.3.2

Monitored substances category lists substances that Nokia

Siemens Networks expects, based on reasonable facts, to be
reduced or phased out from Nokia Siemens Networks products
and/or packaging, subject to the availability of technically,
environmentally and economically sound alternatives. Suppliers
are strongly advised to investigate suitable alternative solutions.

Take-back information
Nokia Siemens Networks customers can contract with Nokia Siemens
Networks for environmentally responsible end-of-life treatment of
obsolete equipment. The purpose is to recover the material and energy
content of the obsolete products and to ensure safe treatment of
substances that can cause harm to people or the environment, if
disposed of untreated. In a life-cycle perspective, EoL treatment can
compensate for some of the environmental impacts of the earlier stages
of the products life cycle.
Nokia Siemens Networks Equipment Take Back Solution provides Nokia
Siemens Networks customers with an end-to-end service that includes
the removal of end-of-life products from the customers' network and
ensures end-of-life treatment in an environmentally responsible way.
The Nokia Siemens Networks Equipment Take Back Solution is offered
in several modules representing end-to-end work flow of the process:

Removal

Collection

Recycling

Project Management

In Nokia Siemens Networks or Other Vendor HW Replacement, that is,

SWAP cases Take Back Solution brings in Collection and Recycling
Service as Removal and Project Management are already included. The
pricing is scalable according to the modules.
If customer chooses not to procure Nokia Siemens Networks Equipment
Take Back Solution from Nokia Siemens Networks, customer agrees to
dispose of any such equipment in a sound environmental manner, in
compliance with all applicable laws.
