Parents,

Ridge Creek Elementary is excited to announce the launch of the 7 Habits of Happy

Kids. This is a childrens book written by Sean Covey, based on The 7 Habits of
Highly Effective People.

You might hear your student saying, Be Proactive, or Begin with an End in Mind around

the house. These are just two of the seven habits in this program that the students have been
learning in their homeroom class.

District & Campus News- November

G/T Testing and Referral Kindergarten

Initial assessment of all kindergarten students for the Gifted and Talented (G/T) program will take place between October 20 and November 21. If a student qualifies to take the achievement test, a parent referral and consent form will be sent home. The second test will take
place between January 8 and January 30, 2015. The Building Selection Committee will determine placement of kindergarten students in
the G/T program by February 6, 2015, with services to begin on February 23, 2015.

G/T Referral and Testing Grades 1-12:

Any students new to Humble ISD and in grades 1-12 may be referred for the Gifted/Talented (G/T) program between November 10 and
November 14, 2014. Parents or teachers may refer students for testing. If you would like to refer your child, please request information
from Ms. Tonya Schumann, 281-641-3732.
Students in grades 1-12 are eligible to test for the Gifted/Talented program after a referral is received. All testing will take place on our
campus during a window between January 8 and January 30, 2015. The Building Selection Committee will determine placement in the G/T
program by February 6, 2015, with services to begin on February 23, 2015.

Pruebas y referidos para G/T (Programa de dotados y talentosos) para alumnos en kindergarten
La evaluacin inicial de todos los alumnos de kindergarten para el programa de Dotados y Talentosos (Gifted and Talented = G/T) se llevarn a cabo entre las fechas del 20 de octubre y el 21 de noviembre. Si un alumno cualifica para tomar la prueba de realizacin, un referido para el/los padre(s) y el formulario para el consentimiento ser enviado a casa. La segunda prueba se llevar a cabo entre las fechas
del 8 de enero y el 30 enero del 2015. El Comit de Seleccin del Plantel determinarn la colocacin de los alumnos de kindergarten en el
programa G/T para el 6 de febrero del 2015, los servicios del programa comenzarn el 23 de febrero del 2015.
