FROM

THE'NIELSENS

Janu ary thru March was spent mostly with school and each of us also
had a turu with the flu.

Paula spent most of this time in Tokyo

so she

could get chiropractic treatments.to help straighten her spine. She took
her studies with her. The first week in June finished the school year
but Paula still has about 3 more weeks to finish her years work.

In April we all went to Osaka to attend our yearly convention. It

had been several years since we had seen some of our missionaries and
longer for the children. Many did not recognize the girls.
We were thrilled to have Bro, Frank Palmer

of Norton, Kansas visit

us May 31. Due to language barrier he got on a local train by mistake so

he had a 95 hour ride to Sendai instead-of the
hour express ride for

which he had bought tickets. But we did so much enjoy' his short visit.

Vie have a Japanese" visitor about every day. Alittle boy, beginning
to vraHc good by himself, walks up the hill and comes to our y^d fence
and longingly looks thru at our puppy. The first time he came, his folks
looked all over for him. Now when he is missing, they look here first.
The first Sunday in July the'9 of us that hadn't sca'ttered for the
summer from the Tsuchidoi services, had a picnic. Vie all piled into the

Jeep and bounced 2^ hours- to a very beautiful hiU top here we had our
worship service and lunch before returning home for thenight serviced

This week Martha is near Tokyo in a camp for missionary children.^

She was so thrilled and excited about going, she said, "Just think, this

is the first time I'm going to camp as-a oaraper, not just a tag-along.
Paula went with Martha to Tokyo, then she will go to Karuizawa, a

from India (they planned to come to Sendai to see us but Bemal "as tj.

Marcia went down to the train station early an s oo

Marcia's hope for the summer is to-get some sew^g done and do .so^
