Limitations of High Duty Cycle Operation

The current ripples of the switches and the output diodes are
large.
The switch voltage stress is equal to the output voltage,
which is large in high output voltage applications.
The switching losses and the output diode reverse recovery
losses are large due to the hard switching operation and high
switch voltage stress.

capacitors - II
Salient features of this topology are,
Two capacitors can be charged in parallel and discharged in
series via the coupled inductor to acieve high gain.
The voltage stresses on the main switch and output diode are
reduced by a passive clamp circuit.
The reverse recovery problem of the diode is alleviated.
Gain of the circuit is given by,

Advantages :
The resonance between the leakage inductance and the stray
capacitor of the output diode is avoided.
By adding the switched capacitor and the regenerative diode,
the diode reverse-recovery energy is recycled.

minimize the current ripple
reduce the passive component size
High voltage gain can be realized by voltage multiplier cells
added into the circuit.
works in turn-on ZCS (Zero Current Switching) mode which
reduces switch losses as well as EMI noise
Gain of the circuit is given by,
