~~ COMING UP ~~
~~BUSINESS MEETING~~
The meeting was opened by President Debbie
Roessler who is recovering from a brief hospital
stay with forgettable hospital food, and she got a
round of applause upon her return, even though
she barely had the strength to ring the bell.
The Thought for the Day regarding elections,
from 400 BC to now, and a prayer about
elections, were delivered by Herb Wehmeyer,
followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
~~ANNOUNCEMENTS~~
President Debbie announced that the kickoff
meeting for A Nite at the Races fundraiser, to
be held March 14, 2015 (save the date!), will be
held the evening of November 18 at Cliffs
house, in conjunction with the monthly Board
meeting. Rotarians who have not been on the
committee before are especially welcome. . . . . .
The SMC Rotaract Club is hosting its second
annual Celebrate Literacy event for children
ages 2 through 8 at Assumption Hall this
Saturday from 9:30 am to 12 noon. You are
welcome to bring children and grandchildren to
this event, where stories will be read to them. . . .
Ann Damaschino will be e-mailing everyone to
coordinate the stocking stuffing/pot luck dinner
on Sunday Dec 14. . . . Roger Gregory reported
that the St. Marys police are actively ticketing
vehicles without the required (free) SMC sticker.
The fine is $40, but may be forgiven if the perp
gets a sticker promptly. (Save your $40 for
Rotary!). . . We got a nice note of thanks for the
speakers gift of 200 Polio Plus vaccines from
Christine Deane, who spoke on Oct 28.
