Two Adult Studies Today – You are invited to gather for Bible study and sharing today at 10:45
a.m. in the café area or following the 10:45 service in the large classroom. All are welcome!

Young Adult Small Group – All young adults are invited to meet 7:30 p.m. Monday at Panera in
the Waterford Town Center for a discussion based on Blue Like Jazz. Questions? See Phil Greve. To

Women’s Journey Group Monday – All women are invited to Lori Prunyi’s 7 p.m. Monday to

Women’s Bible Study Tuesday – The Tuesday Women’s Bible study meets Tuesday, 7:15 p.m.

Men’s Lunch Wednesday – All men are invited to enjoy lunch and conversation from 11:45am-
12:45pm Wednesday at the Orlando Ale House at the Waterford Lakes Town Center.

Learn Conversational Spanish Wednesdays – Nina Perez is teaching a brief conversational


Spanish lesson every Wednesday from 6 to 6:15 p.m.

Women’s Retreat Friday – SoJ’s Women’s Retreat, Traveling Light, is this coming weekend.
Depart late Friday afternoon. Return Saturday afternoon. Suggested donation: $35. Sign-up today!

Women’s Retreat Purse Project – You’re invited to contribute items for women at the Harbor
House, a shelter for women & children. The list of small, purse-sized items is available at the Wel-
come Center. Place items in the large bag marked Purse Project in the lobby by Wednesday. They
will be sorted and put into gently used purses at the women's retreat for distribution. If you prefer
to give cash please note Purse Project on the memo line/envelope. Checks payable to SoJ.

New Member/Disciple Orientation Next Sunday – Want to learn more about SoJ? Sign up at
the Welcome Center today for a free lunch / orientation, next Sunday from 12:30 to 2:30 P.M.

SoJ Rummage Sale April 18-19 – SoJ will hold a rummage sale April 18-19. 75% of the proceeds
will benefit SoJ’s Burundi Mission Trip. 25% will support East Orange Converge Food Ministries. Our
goal is to raise $4,000. The final time to drop off donated items in the north lobby is 10 to
noon Saturday. Many volunteers are needed to set-up and to work the days of the sale. To help,

College Finals Survival Kits – Once again, SoJ’s Young Adult Ministry is collecting donations to
create “survival kits” goodie bags for college students as they enter Final Exam week. We will
collect donations through next Sunday, to distribute them on April 20. See the display at the
Welcome Center for a shopping list!

Young Adult Spring Picnic April 20 – SoJ’s Young Adult Ministry will be hosting a picnic for
college students and other young adults, Sunday, April 20, 1:20 p.m. at Phil Greve’s home
adjacent to Blanchard Park. For more info, contact Phil.

Cleaning Volunteers Urgently Needed – If you’re available Thursday mornings, or other times
during the week, cleaning volunteers are urgently needed to help clean the building once or twice
a month. See Bob Belk today or sign-up at the Welcome Center!

April Outreach Team Project – SoJ's Outreach Team is collecting 120 cans of Peanut Butter &
Jelly for Harvest of Hope. To share a gift, place your donations in the wagon located next to the
cafe by Sunday April 20. Monetary Donations are welcomed too. Use a SoJ offering envelope,
label it or your check HOH and place it in the offering basket. Thank-you for your generous
support!

Quilting Team – Quilters meet the 1st and 3rd Thursdays at 9:30am and go to lunch afterwards.

Bicycle Ministry – Volunteers are needed to help repair bicycles for people in need at 10am on
the 2nd Saturday and 10 am on Wednesdays. To get involved call Will Stevenback, 407-401-1963.

Sunday’s COOL – Students meet in three grade levels: Pre-K, K & 1st grade; 2nd & 3rd Grade, and
4th & 5th Grade classes. Students check in at individual classes. Signs are posted by the door of the
Splash Zone and Classroom to designate classes. 2nd–5th grade students should bring their Bibles
to Sunday’s COOL. Openings are still available for Assistants for both services to assist the 4, 5, &
6 year olds with crafts and projects. Please sign up in the Welcome Center or the Splash Zone.

Urgent – Sunday’s Cool Teachers Needed – Sunday’s COOL teachers have the great honor of
touching lives for Jesus! Teachers serve on a bi-weekly basis for 3 months. Two teachers are still
needed to serve through mid June. 9:00 service, 2nd-5th grade teacher needed: 10:45 service,
2nd-3rd grade teacher needed. Please sign up at the Welcome Center. Questions? See Nicole

YouthWorks! Mission Trip Meeting Wednesday – SoJ’s youth are going on two mission trips
July 27 – August 1…painting houses and serving in homeless shelters in Savannah, GA (middle
school) and playing with neighborhood children and helping with Hurricane Katrina clean up in
Bayou La Batre, AL (high school). Parents and interested youth are asked to attend a planning
meeting, 8pm Wednesday in the youth room to meet trip leaders and get final trip details.

Youth Build Your Own Pizza Party Saturday – Middle & High School students are invited to a
Pizza Party Saturday from 6-9pm. This is a great opportunity to bring your friends to church and
meet others from the youth program. Everyone should bring their favorite pizza topping and $3
for the cost of dinner. Be prepared for some fun pizza contests!

Youth Sell Concessions at Rummage Sale April 19 – Middle & HS Youth will run the
concession stand at the Rummage Sale on Saturday April 19, from 8-3:00 p.m. Proceeds will help
pay for transportation on the summer mission trip. Concession donations will be matched by
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans!
Paid Nursery Attendant Opening –SoJ is still looking to hire a part-time nursery attendant to
work Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interested? See Nicole Eastwood.

Joy Singers – Anyone high school age and up is welcome to come and sing with our choir.
Rehearsals are Wednesday night from 7-8 in the worship center. Questions? See Phil Greve.

Children’s Choir – This group is open to kids in grade 1-5, and meets during Wednesday Night
Live from 7-8 p.m. in the large classroom.

Joyful Noise – This is the Sunday morning worship team, which prepares new music each week to
lead our congregation in worship at 9:00 and 10:45. If interested, see Phil about taking a Musical
Gifts Assessment to be a part of this group.

Drama Team – SoJ’s Drama Team consists of writers and actors who are interested in utilizing
their talents in short skits to enhance the worship experience. If you would like to be involved in
the Drama Team, please contact Sandy and Doug Gaston at 407-382-4027.

Private Music Lessons – SoJ’s Creative Arts Studio has 12 instructors teaching almost every
instrument and voice. For more information or to register, pick up a flyer at the Welcome Center.

Creative Arts Studio Volunteers Needed – Interested in learning how you can support the
outreach of the Creative Arts Studio to our community? Contact Phil Greve! Volunteers are needed
at a variety of levels, from baking cookies for recitals to helping plan the next Deck the Halls
event. If you have a heart for helping others discover and develop their artistic gifts we can find a
place for you to serve!
