HEAD START PROGRAM

15 young women from 17 to 23 years old, with whom Ive been working on behalf of the
Federation of Canadian Municipalities, have been researching why young women are not
involved in politics. They undertook a project to develop a workshop that can be used in the
classroom or with community groups to encourage young people to become more involved in
their communities. They will launch their project on July 27th at City Hall with hard and soft
copies of their findings. Contact my office for more information on this project.

COLLISON REPORTING CENTRE

Motorists involved in a collision must report to police within 24 hours. Ottawa Police are making
this easier by opening a reporting centre at the 211 Huntmar Police Station. If you have a
collision contact the police at 613 230-6211 where you will be informed if an officer needs to
attend or given are report number to then report it at the centre. This will save long waits for the
public and streamline the process.

SENIORS HEALTH LITERACY CONSULATION

As part of a pilot project, consultations will be held with seniors to address issues of

information and to register contact Maureen at maureen.forsythe@coaottawa.ca or
