KILN TIRE MELTING BAR LUBRICANT

dMT Ecotech GmbH applies many years of

experience in the application of innovative solid
lubricants to improve the operation of industrial
production equipment.
Application
One of our very special and effective solid
lubricants is GRL Kiln Tire Lubricant, solid
lubricant bars for use on the tire retainers,
riding rings, and support pads of rotating
horizontal kilns and dryers.
Support pad wear leads to high tire clearance
and creep, high shell distortion and ultimately
to refractory failures. Use of GRL Kiln Tire
Lubricant will minimize support pad and tire
bore wear, stabilize creep and reduce pressure
on stop blocks, minimizing the risk of support
pad and refractory failure.
Traditionally most plants have used liquids of
various components which are sprayed onto
the surfaces needing lubrication. Spraying is
time consuming and often less than effective.
These products not only improve the operation
of such equipment but reduce the costs related
to maintenance while also reducing risk of
worker injury.
Compared to other products used for this
application, the solids content and superior
lubricant properties actually decrease the
amount of GRL product required for further
application in long-term.

Product Description
GRL Kiln Tire Lubricant consists of high
viscosity thickeners with long-lasting, solid
graphite and copper film-forming components
which bond strongly with the metal surfaces to
reduce damaging friction.
GRL provides an adhesive, high-solids film to
assure maximum protection from excessive
wear, cold welding and galling in an easy to
apply form.

GRL provides a modern, efficient and laborsaving method of lubricating tire and wear pad
surfaces.
GRL are supplied in various lengths and widths
to make fast and safe insertion into the gaps
behind the tire.
In comparison dMT-GRL offers the following
characteristics and cost-saving benefits:
Solid as opposed to liquid lubricant;
Quickly and safely applied;
Reduces friction and optimizes tire creep;
strong bondage to metal surfaces;
melts within 1-2 rotations;
lowers maintenance costs;
substantial reduction of metal surface wear;
auto ignition: 340 or 645 C (520 or 970 F);
non-toxic / non-hazardous.

GRL needs no periphery equipment for its application. The GRL solid stick can be easily inserted
into the gap between the filler bars where it melts and releases the soothing lubricant. The high
solids content fills the surface imperfections, resulting in a smoother bore surface, lower friction,
optimum creep and less wear.
Less friction and wear minimizes tire retainer pressure and extends the operational life of support
pads and tires, often up to 50% longer or more

GRL Kiln Tire Lubricant should be applied on average 4 bars per week per tire, although this
can vary depending upon the kiln diameter, rotating speed, condition of metal surfaces, etc.
