Bauer Media is a union of the Bauer Media Group; being Europes largest privately owned
publishing Group. Bauer Media joined the Bauer Media Group in January in 2008. The Group is
a worldwide media domain offering over 300 magazines in 15 countries, including a couple of
music magazines as well as online, TV and radio stations. Reaching over 22 million UK adults
every week. Bauer Media have a 25% share of the magazine market. Targeting a wide range of

Time Inc. UK (IPC Media)
Time Inc. UK is a British consumer magazine and publisher, owned by Marcus Rich. It
publishes iconic brands, with content built on relationships and inspired conversations with
millions of consumers. The company engages with almost half of the adults in the UK, with a
20% share of the magazine market. Their award winning website reaches over 28 million global
users every month. The company publishes over 60 media brands, including a few music
magazines, which inspire millions of people every day across print, online, mobile and tablets. Some

In the mid-1950s the industry was dominated by a handful of companies, mainly the Associated
Newspapers who was founded by Lord Harmsworth in 1890, Odhams Press Ltd, George
Newnes Publishers, C.Arthur Pearson and the Hulton Press. These companies fought each
other for market share in a highly competitive marketplace.

Cond Nast
Cond Nast is a mass media company, who are known for producing high quality content for
the worlds most influential audience. The company is based at One World Trade Center in
New York City. Attracting over 164 million consumers across its 20 print and digital media
brands. Including the following:

Vogue
Teen Vogue
GQ
Glamour
Brides
Vanity Fair

In 1909 the company was founded by Cond Montrose Nast and has been owned and run by
the Newhouse family since 1959. Samuel Irving Newhouse, Jr. is the chairman and CEO of
Advance Publications. The chief executive officer is Charles H. Townsend and Robert A.
Sauerberg is its president. In 2011 the company launched Cond Nast Entertainment to
develop film, television and digital video programming. The company also owns Fairchild
Fashion Media and its portfolio of fashion journalism brands such as:
