The left side compound wall of the BO campus in Raisinghnagar collapsed due to excessive earth filling during heavy rainfall. An inspection found the wall was only 230mm thick but was bearing the pressure of 6'6" of filling on the outer side. The remaining brick wall is also unstable. The entire left side compound wall needs to be replaced with a retaining wall designed to bear the earth pressure. Approval is requested to reconstruct the project.

Sub: - Turn down of compound wall due to rainfall of BO campus at Raisinghnagar
As per the information received, the left side compound of BO campus of Raisinghnagar Branch has been turn down due to excessive load of earth filling during the rainfall on 4-92014 evening. I have visited the site on 6-9-2014 as per the instructions of the competent authorities and observed the position of compound wall.
Total area of plot is 38.130m X 45.
The left side wall is 45.745 m in length and having 230mm thickness with 345 mm thick columns 3.00m C/C and having 10-3 including 2ft height of MS grill from inner formation level. The RCC Retaining wall was partially constructed in left side up to 10.00 m from front corner in 230 mm thick up to 7ft height from inner formation level and reaming height has match with 1ft height of brick work of 230 mm thick and 2 ft height of MS grill. Earlier the retaining wall was taking the pressure of 4 to 2-6 filling on outer side but now the Road work is in progress and filling has been done up to 6-6 at outer side. The excessive filling has been done on outer side of compound wall, therefore the wall up to 50ft has turn sour due to excessive earth pressure during heavy rainfall. The remaining portion of Brick wall is also not in good condition and neither it is safe. The entire left side brick compound wall should be replaced with retaining wall. The above wall should be redesign as a retaining wall before construction is taken up. If competent authority accord principal approval for above works thereafter we may arrange to get work done though the Engg. Depptt. , Jaipur.
