3. How old do you have to be to attend Kindergarten at KIPP NYC Elementary School in Harlem?
Children must be 5 years of age by December 31, 2010 to attend Kindergarten at KIPP NYC Elementary
School in Harlem.
11. Will KIPP NYC Elementary School in Harlem provide transportation for my child to get to and from the
school?
As with any public school, KIPP will provide eligible students with a ½ fare or full fare metrocard depending
on how far they live from the school.
Upon submission of the application, applicants will have the opportunity to document their free and reduced
lunch eligibility. Families do not need to be present at the lottery. Students will be contacted by phone to
discuss the expectations of the school in the order they were drawn until all open slots are filled. Families
may also call the school beginning April 15th to find out the number that they were assigned in the lottery.
3. Can I enter my child’s name in more than one KIPP NYC lottery?
Yes. However, you will need to submit a separate application for each school. Each KIPP NYC school holds a
separate lottery and enrollment process.
