EVENT/MEETINGS MICHELLE AVERY
-Lunch meetings will be held 3rd Tuesday of every month at Koop Drive location.
-Currently working on getting a list of guest speakers – goal is to have a speaker at every
meeting.
CONCLUSION -No meeting will be held in February due to Mardi Gras
S -LSU Viewings will be discontinued due to lack of interest – possibility of holding one per year.
-Socials will be more casual and combined with Chamber After Hours, possibly as NRP
Ambassadors.

STRUCTURE OF NRP CRAIG MARINELLO

-Executive Committee members are working to make NRP more structurally sound.
- Five committees have been established to provide tentative structure:
A) Executive Committee
B) Community/Events – Sally Hoffstadt/Sally Kingston
C) Communications – Amy Lang/Lauren Coudrain
CONCLUSION D) Membership/Recruiting – Kelly Pontiff/Joe Prisco
S E) Projects – Tommy Buckel/Paul Myers
- Get involved, find where you fit, decide what you want to get out of NRP and go get it.
- If you have any ideas please email them over.
- Plan is to have speakers at every meeting – some possibilities –Steve Scalise, Jack Donahue.

PROJECTS PAUL MYERS/TOMMY BUCKEL


-Food Drive – Thanks to all who participated –
- Additional Bags can be delivered to Terebella off 1085 from 12-3 on Sunday.
-Dragon Boat Race – Looking at sponsoring a boat in the race or a beer tent, have spoken to
Champagne
Beverage and can get a beer trailer relatively inexpensive.
- Possibly enter a boat in the race – need 20 people to commit.
DISCUSSION
- Boat is manned by 20 persons all rowing at once, trying to cross the finish
line.
-Update on 190 project.
-SBAC needs volunteers for Fontainebleau High Development program – email Paul if
interested.
- Suggested - an “eat with the poor” project.
-190 Project – Outline will be prepared for next meeting, indicating steps that need to be
taken.

- 501C(3) needs to be set up
- Email will be sent out in January for all those interested in volunteering.

190 Project

QUICK PREVIEW OF NRP 2010 CRAIG MARINELLO


1. Currently developing a calendar of events.
2. Looking at having our socials piggyback on other events in the area, for
example having Ambassadors from NRP at every Business After Hours event.
3. Working on picking one major festival to have a presence and just
volunteering our time at a beer booth, etc… Listed are some events that
were suggested: Seafood Festival, Abita Springs Opry, Jazz on the
Vines, Mandeville Boat Festival.
4. Possibly getting together a team for the Madisonville Dragon Boat racing
CONCLUSIONS 5. Planning a Christmas in July Food drive and inviting Jackie Calanato
back to speak at our June meeting.
6. Finalizing website.
7. Dues – Chamber members = no separate dues, Non-Chamber members -
$60.00 per year same as YLC .
8. Three members of NRP on Chamber board this year; NRP was nominated with
SBAC as Committee of the Year.
9. Purpose of networking is to meet other people and get more involved.
Everyone get up and introduce yourself to someone you do not know.

Special Note: Thank you for participating in the Food Drive, it was a success and the Covington
Food Bank was very appreciative.

attend please give Emily 24 hours notice.
