University of Moratuwa Stadium

It was a big day for us, as it was the day of the annual cricket match of Leo club of University of Moratuwa held on 3rd
Aug 2014. All were waiting for one trophy. Different teams from one Leo family played for afforced their friendship.
Cricket is not just a game, it brings people together. The BIG Leo family got together and enjoyed the day

A room without books is like a body without a soul. So we
were able to give a SOUL through Sisu Madiya. On 1st of
August 2014 we went to Kiula Kanitu Viduhala, Monaragala
with lot of books.
Electricity was supplied to the school parallel to the Sisu
Madiya and it was done as a joint project of Leo club of University of Moratuwa with Sasnaka Sansada foundation.

It was almost the end of a fantastic event. Though it was the

end, on other hand a mark for
an initiation of a new chapter,
on a colorful stage, as a well-organized ceremony. Guests were
almost about to leave. Oh...! A
boy ran towards the stage. Then
he got on to the stage with a
piece of paper. At the back a
pretty girl was distributing a set
of hand bills to the audience.
Actually.., there was no one
who knew, what was going on.
But I saw that everyone was an eager to know, what is going on. As always it was about another great social service
which is going to be organized by UoM Leos. The project chairmen had named it as DIRIYA MINISUN WENUWEN.
As the boy explained the plan, it was to donate drinking water and necessary dry food to people affected by drought
in Kabithigollawa. He was asking for support to make this project a success with the donations. By just listening to
his explanation I made a decision to go there with them.
Just as a participant, I would like to note that the event initiated with the aforesaid announcement was a very successful one. The Project was held on 16th of July 2014 basing YAKAWATUNU-WAWA village donating necessary
things with a value of more than rs.125,000 for 120 families in that area. At the same time UoM Leos were thankful
everyone those who helped to make this event a success in numerous ways.

There is a cylindrical water tank at one Gamaralas

place which is having an inlet pipe at the top and an
outlet pipe at the bottom of the tank. Gamarala well
knows that usually it takes 4 hours to fill the whole
tank and to indicate high level at the level sensor
indicator.
Further it takes 6 hours to discharge the whole tank.
One day the Gamarala open the inlet valve to fillup the empty tank. However by a mistake Gamarala
had forgot to close the outlet valve. Then, how many
hours will take to indicate high level.
Hint -: assume that the outlet flow rate dose not vary
with the water level of the tank. The meaning of high
level is that the tank is totally filled.

UoM Leo Club is a place where people from different

places, with different talents, having different destinations get together as a one family
Leo party was another event that all the UoM brothers and sisters gathered. Nobody sensed how the time
passed, as everyone was enjoying the fun games of the
event!

MAKE A DOOR

Life.., What is the life? Is it a song? Is it a miracle?

For a time life is like a river. It flows beautifully, taking flower petals and making white bubbles. But in other
time, through rocks and mountains, it flows with many difficulties containing less water. Like that, life is a
collection of moments with smiles and tears. Tears make the life rich with new lessons and smiles and add a
beauty to the life. In your river of life also, you may face many difficult moments. Normally we cannot avoid
difficulties, sorrows and challenges till we die. But should we run away from them? Can we ignore them?
No. Absolutely not. Nobody is always there find our tears and sorrows and wipe them away. They have their
own difficulties. So we should be wise enough to make lemonade from the lemon in our hand. We should be
strong enough to find solutions to our problems. Stand on your own feet and face difficulties. Find a solution
of your own. Never give up.
Future always reaches us with new opportunities. We should be awake and catch them with courage and enthusiasm. All human lives are covered with a special lucky power. But only awaken ones can identify that luck.
OPPORTUNITY IS OUR ATTITUDE. Opportunities are always in front of us. But they do not come and knock.
We should awake and catch them. We should open our doors for opportunities. How to make the door for
opportunities? Is it possible? Sometimes you might be lazy to have a good education. You might not be happy
about your job. You might not do a work on your best.
But, please open your eyes. Do your education with enthusiasm and devotion. Be happy and efficient in your
job.
Be the difference. Do a difference. Always do your best. Give something good to the world and be thankful for
the things you get from the world. Smile a lot. Be happy. Then you have made your door. Opportunities will
come finding you easily. If opportunities do not come to you, go and find them. You will be able to ensign your
life as you wish. So, are you ready to make the door for opportunities?
