Notes on discs
To keep a disc clean, do not touch its surface.
Handle the disc by its edge.
Keep your discs in their cases or disc
magazines when not in use.
Do not subject discs to heat/high temperature.
Avoid leaving them in a parked car or on a
dashboard/rear tray.
You can play CD-Rs (recordable CDs)/CDRWs (rewritable CDs) designed for audio use
on this unit.
Look for these marks to distinguish CD-Rs/
CD-RWs for audio use.
Getting Started
Caution alarm
If you turn the ignition switch to the OFF
position without removing the front panel, the
caution alarm will beep for a few seconds.
If you connect an optional amplifier and do not
use the built-in amplifier, the beep sound will be
deactivated.

Note
Pressing the RESET button will erase the clock setting
and some stored contents.

Notes
If you detach the panel while the unit is still turned
on, the power will turn off automatically to prevent
the speakers from being damaged.
Do not drop or put excessive pressure on the front
panel and its display window.
Do not subject the front panel to heat/high
temperature or moisture. Avoid leaving it in a parked
car or on a dashboard/rear tray.
Tip
When carrying the front panel with you, use the
supplied front panel case.

Playing a disc

Notes
While ejecting or inserting a disc, do not close the
shutter. The disc may be caught and damaged.
A disc may be ejected if you open the shutter
forcefully.
While the first/last track on the disc is playing, if
(SEEK) () or (SEEK) (+) is pressed, playback skips
to the last/first track of the disc.
When the last track on the disc is over, playback
restarts from the first track of the disc.
Tip
A disc can be played with the shutter opened or
closed.

The unit can store up to 6 stations per band
(FM1, FM2, FM3, AM1 and AM2).
Caution
Storing stations

Best Tuning Memory (BTM)
The unit selects the stations with the strongest
signals within the selected band, and stores them
in the order of their frequency.
Notes
If only a few stations can be received due to weak
signals, some number buttons will retain their former
settings.
When a number is indicated in the display, the unit
starts storing stations from the one currently
displayed.

Other Functions
You can also control the unit with a rotary
commander (optional).
Note
If you try to store another station on the same number
button, the previously stored station will be erased.

Condensacin de humedad
En das lluviosos o en zonas muy hmedas, es
posible que se condense humedad dentro de las
lentes y la pantalla de la unidad. Si esto ocurre, la
unidad no funcionar correctamente. En este
caso, extraiga el disco y espere una hora
aproximadamente hasta que se haya evaporado la
humedad.

Procedimientos iniciales
Restauracin de la unidad
Antes de utilizar la unidad por primera vez, o
despus de sustituir la batera del automvil o de
cambiar las conexiones, debe restaurarla.
Extraiga el panel frontal y presione el botn
RESET con un objeto puntiagudo, como un
bolgrafo.
Alarma de precaucin
Si gira la llave de encendido hasta la posicin
OFF sin haber extrado el panel frontal, la alarma
de precaucin sonar durante unos segundos. Si
conecta un amplificador opcional y no utiliza el
incorporado, el sonido se desactiva.
Botn RESET
Nota
Al presionar RESET, se borra el ajuste del reloj y
algunos contenidos memorizados.
Presione (OFF)*.
Se detiene la reproduccin de CD o la
recepcin de la radio (la iluminacin de las
teclas y la pantalla permanecen activados).

y, a continuacin, extraiga
el panel frontal hacia usted.

Notas
Si extrae el panel con la unidad encendida, la
alimentacin se desactiva automticamente para
evitar que se daen los altavoces.
No deje caer el panel frontal ni su pantalla. Tampoco
ejerza excesiva presin sobre stos.
No someta el panel frontal al calor ni a temperaturas
altas o humedad. Evite dejarlo en un automvil
estacionado o sobre el tablero o la bandeja trasera.
Sugerencia
Al transportar el panel frontal, utilice el estuche
suministrado.

Notas
No cierre el obturador mientras se expulse o inserte
un disco. Es posible que se bloquee y dae el disco.
Si abre el obturador a la fuerza, es posible que se
expulse el disco.
Si presiona (SEEK) () o (SEEK) (+) durante la
reproduccin de la primera o la ltima pista del
disco, la reproduccin salta a la ltima o a la primera
pista.
Cuando finalice la ltima pista del disco, la
reproduccin se reiniciar a partir de la primera
pista del disco.
Sugerencia
Un disco puede reproducirse con el obturador abierto
o cerrado.

Memoria de emisoras con mejor sintona
(BTM)
La unidad selecciona las emisoras de seal ms
intensa dentro de la banda seleccionada y las
almacena por orden de frecuencia.
Notas
Si se reciben pocas emisoras debido a que las
seales son dbiles, algunos botones numricos
conservarn sus valores anteriores.
Si la pantalla muestra un nmero, la unidad
comienza a almacenar emisoras a partir del nmero
que se muestra actualmente.

Si la sintonizacin automtica se

Cambio de REAR/SUB*

Notas
Por razones de seguridad, apague el motor antes de
limpiar los conectores y extraiga la llave de la llave
de encendido.
No toque nunca los conectores directamente con los

Reemplazo del fusible
Al cambiar el fusible, asegrese de utilizar uno
cuyo amperaje sea idntico al especificado en el
original. Si el fusible se funde, verifique la
conexin de alimentacin y sustityalo. Si el
fusible se funde de nuevo despus de sustituirlo,
es posible que exista alguna falla de
funcionamiento interno. En tal caso, consulte con
el distribuidor Sony ms cercano.

Reproduccin de CD
No es posible insertar un disco.
Generales
No se escucha el sonido.
Ya hay un CD insertado.
El CD se ha insertado a la fuerza al revs o
de forma incorrecta.
La reproduccin no se inicia.
CD defectuoso o sucio.
CD-R o CD-RW sin finalizar.
Intent reproducir un CD-R o CD-RW no
diseado para el uso de audio.
Ciertos discos CD-R o CD-RW pueden no
reproducirse debido al equipo de grabacin o
al estado del disco.
El disco se expulsa automticamente.
