The Pictorialist

December 2014
Newsletter of the Photo Pictorialists of Milwaukee
Established 1904
Affiliated with the Photographic Society of America
Wisconsin Area Camera Clubs Organization
And the Wisconsin Print Circuit
Richard Yehl, President; Kathy Braun, Vice President
Dixie Lowin, Treasurer; Bert Hartinger, Secretary-Editor
Meetings are held the first Thursday of each month, from September thru May, except for Apr. 9, at 7pm,
at the Luther Manor Conference Room, 4545 N. 92nd St., Wauwatosa, Wisconsin
Dec. 4 the Meeting You Dont Want to Miss
We will celebrate the holiday season and the end of
the year with our annual dinner party, in our regular
meeting place, the LM Conference Room.

Dr. Zhu is exhibiting along with two other

photographers in the Erickson Gallery in the
Marshall Building, 207 E. Buffalo Street, for about
one month.
WACCO Activities

Come at 6 pm for socializing. Bring a dish to share

and drinks of your choice.
In addition, we want to view photos of the season.
Digital images should be sent to Sandra Weber.
Send her up to ten images, and do it now (its the
editors fault that this is getting to you so late).
Exhibits
Pauline Beck is now exhibiting photos by the LM
Pharmacy. Her cat is now famous among LM
residents, those who are cat lovers. She also has
photos of flowers from her garden and a portrait of
her mother.
The group display which was in the Welcome
Center at LM was taken down last Saturday, and
today (Dec. 24) the City Hall exhibition was hung
by Richard Yehl, the Sandra Weber, and Pete
Koenig. The City Hall photos will be displayed
until Dec. 6. About 90 photos are now on display.
The WACCO exhibit in the Blue Building ends with
an artists reception Dec. 5 between 6 and 8 pm.
Photos can be picked at that time, or the following
day Dec.6 between 10 and 12 noon.

WACCO is sponsoring a seminar featuring Adam

Jones, a Canon Photographer of Light. It is a
bargain, only $8.00. Jones is a nature, travel and
wildlife photographer of renown.
The seminar will be held March 21, from 9am to 1
pm, at the Mequon Nature Preserve, 8200 W.
County Line Road. Go to the WACCO website to
get the entry form.
Club Outings
In what has become a tradition, on Dec. 13 from
noon to 4 pm there will be an outing to Old World
Wisconsin. This will wind up most likely with a
meal at a place to be determined.
The Wisconsin Print Circuit
Many of the prints judged for the Wisconsin Print
Circuit the last time were rejected, because they
were size 8x10 instead of 8.5 x 11, which made
little sense. The rule will most likely be changed
for the next batch, which will be judged the 3rd
Thursday in March.
