In all my prayers
for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the
gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that He who
began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of
Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:3-6.
I do thank God for each of you and pray you have a safe and happy
Thanksgiving holiday.
December is always a busy month in every area of life. We as
Christians celebrate the birth of our SAVIOR, on the 25th of the month
and usually spend the time preceding the celebration in praise and
preparation. That is certainly true at First Baptist. All month long
there will be special choir presentations, parties, ministry opportunities
and much more. All month long we will specifically look at the Birth
of our Savior through songs, sermons, activities and celebrations. It is
my prayer that as we do this we will keep focused on the reason we are
celebrating, the BIRTH OF JESUS, OUR SAVIOR AND LORD.
This is also the time of the year that we remember our
Missionaries with a special offering that goes directly to them. The
Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions will be
taken at our Ingathering service on December 7. This special offering
along with our weekly gifts through the Cooperative Program assures
our missionaries of our support. It also allows them to rest from time to
time and not to rely on seeking support on their own. Our goal for the
Lottie Moon offering is $12,000.
I look forward to seeing you this Sunday in study and worship.

Thank You to the 16 adults and students that helped decorate the
public library. The time you gave to help serve the community was
very much appreciated. Many public libraries across our country
will not allow the place to be decorated for Christmas. We are
blessed to live in a town that supports and allows the church to have
a role in serving public entities.
I hope to see you everyone this Sunday night for our evening
service in the Youth Building for a youth led service. We will be
sharing about our recent discipleship study. Shockwave will also be
singing a couple songs and the praise team will lead in some songs
of worship. Make plans to show up and support our students.
Our Christmas party is Saturday, December 20 beginning at 5:00.
We will meet together at the youth building and from there we will
be caroling at local nursing homes as well as participating in a
progressive supper. The cost is free, but we are asking each student
to bring a gift that is acceptable for either a boy or a girl and cost
less than $10.
I hope and pray that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. I
want you to know that my family and I are very grateful to be
serving here at First Baptist. This church has been such a blessing
to us and we look forward to many years together serving King
Jesus. Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Blessings,
Jeff
